Today’s trouble at the match

Obviously not great call by Bolton, but surely their / our supporters should be able to control their behaviour. Shocking.
I was not there yesterday, but this season seems worse than previous seasons with a small section of our supporter base seemingly intent on causing trouble.

You'd like to think so, but no. The majority of the Bolton corner singing and trying to wind up fans were all young so they'll have been well up for the wind up.
I'd have thought we would have enough people wise enough not to fall for it. Apparently not. Imagine getting hoyed out of a ground because some teenagers were singing a song about you getting beat.
It's a bit pathetic if you ask me.

For people saying "I saw 15/20 away fans get lifted and none of them", you weren't watching long enough. Or perhaps you were watching what you paid to see!
I saw some officers shoving Bolton fans back towards their seats rather than letting them go down the steps into the concourse. I had a good view of it and it seemed to be some of our contingent who made the first move towards them so naturally, the plod will have been concentrating on us making an insurgence than home fans going the other way.

Either way, started out optimistic, and then felt let down by a minority of bellends.

We got away quite quick at the end. Was parked in Tescos. Bolton chavs were all heading down to away buses, turned into a bit of a running battle with them and police through the traffic. Police reinforcements were heading up the motorway as we got on it.

Don’t think i have seen such a large Police presence in a long time, guess the knew what to expect of the Bolton fans.

Bolton has never been a friendly place, always had trouble with Sunderland don’t know why but this isn’t a new thing here strange to have bother with them no idea why but it always happens.

You would be surprised with the history witu Bolton bud see above this ground and their fans always always start trouble
Does it??? I've been to Bolton 5 times and never witnessed a thing.

They've had a similar matchday with Wigan this season, so big allocations will bring the big police presence.

I was there two years ago and their young uns were looking for bother after the game. A middle-aged Sunderland lad waded-in and put one on his arse.
I was with the bairn and to be fair, they just let me walk through them on my way to the motor. They were just young lads as you'd see at every club but definitely fancied a bit bother.

Yeah it does one year they came out the game early to smash all the windows on the bus, it seems to be a game that there is always bother bottle throwing etc isn’t new here they haven’t learnt in that right corner seems to always be a trigger point.

GMP don’t help either like

The majority of bother was in the lower tier which was sold to season ticket holders with higher loyalty points so that kind of blows your theory right out the water

That’s still around 3,000 as opposed to the 1,500 at Cheltenham. The larger the allocation the more idiots. It’s been that way for years

I was in the upper and posted it on a different thread. Tried to get a drink at half time, absolutely packed. Stood at a quieter bit with kids, then watched as flares lit, alarms going off. Shutters put down, lads jumping up kicking shutters watching people trying to get their kids out, some in tears. Shit being threw about and said to kids, it’s shocking behaviour and sad that some of these idiots represent our club. We left after 4th goal and pleased to avoid the crap that was obvious would occur after. After we left could see police outside prepping their riot gear. Sad day, not just the result.
I was about three from the front of the queue for the bar and the prick who set the flare off was either directly behind me or very close to. couldn't see a thing for a minute and I've noticed this morning that my eyes are bloodshot and I have a bit of a sore throat. And I didn't get beer.

If I get my hands on the little twat there will be more trouble.
