Tim Bostock

Bostock is a banker and doesn't give a flying fuck where the money comes from. this has been brewing for ages and needs to be pushed back upon heavily. Blaydon races eh.
That won't happen though, permission for the hotel was granted ages ago wasn't it? Durham need income streams, the KSA want to gain more influence in UK sport. It's sickening as a nearside but outside of the Venn diagram of Durham/SAFC/Human rights theres not enough influence to stop it.

was coming a mile off, im actually surprised nothing of note has happened yet to be honest, TV rights for the hundred and england are due in a couple of years, thats when the expansion will happen, theyll want to be attached by then

yes as members or supporters it stinks, but as a business its a no brainer really, pretty much infinite wealth if they are on board, the Saudis make some of the indian owners look like paupers
Although this merger with the womens team and Durham women FC is a bit of a conflict of interest if the saudis are involved

A very worthwhile listen. Tim Bostock comes over as a visionary but a realist. Durham are very fortunate to have him.

Id agree apart from the Saudi stuff

I just can't accept that sorry...will be a very sad day for me.
Might as well kiss goodbye to any kind of friendly neutrality that Durham CCC previously had. They’ll become an extension of NUFC. I suppose this is the ‘investing in the region’ the Newcastle people spoke of.

Like the John Hall era with bells on

Yep. This.
I'm making the most of this season and trying to see as much Durham cricket as possible as I know that the inevitable is just around the corner and when that time arrives that will be the finish for me.

It's been mentioned that we will become an extension of NUFC but they exist in name only now. We'll just be another brick in the wall that is the Saudi sportswashing project.

Spot on. I agree with enjoying it while you can, exactly been my thought too.

Be absolutely gutted me, Durham lad, always felt different to all other sport.
Like others this could be my last 'summer' as a member and watching Durham CCC. All those dreams from thirty odd years ago when gaining First Class Cricket status chucked down the drain for short term immoral commercial non-sport reasons. So sad.

Especially when we are just getting a massive windfall from the 100 too..we don't need it.

Oh well then thats okay then, we'll just have to pack in supporting if a banker from Liverpool knows best

How so? They’ve already done the same with NUFC.

The only way this could potentially be prevented is if senior officials at the club stood down en masse. It’s attract a lot of attention and headlines. I’d like to think some of the senior officials at the club are considering that

same for me with Durham Wasps when we (I still call them "we") closed in 96. I just couldn't watch hockey anymore, it didn't feel right and certainly I was never going to Newcastle and Whitley Bay. It took me until just over 2 years ago to go back and that was at Billingham where I'm a season ticket holder now. With this cricket comparison, I can't see myself bothering with anywhere else other than the odd local cricket game at Castle Eden for example.

Gutted this will happen and will be the end for me. Been a member since '92 (sound like a mag there!) but no more. Even more gutting as I've just semi-retired and got more time than ever to go down and watch, living about 3 miles away.

im meaning if the Saudis/PIF are involved and bank rolling it, they are already invested in a Womens football team in the same division

Not been a happy time for Bostock. First the Saudis restructure their sports financing potentially putting his possible franchise in jeopardy, and now he's losing his Director of Cricket.

He might as well quit too...hopefully.
