Tim Bostock

Fortunate to have a bloke who wants to pair up with MBS?

I agree the rest of the interview was interesting though.

Might as well kiss goodbye to any kind of friendly neutrality that Durham CCC previously had. They’ll become an extension of NUFC. I suppose this is the ‘investing in the region’ the Newcastle people spoke of.

Like the John Hall era with bells on

They'll be renaming the stretch of the Wear next to the ground. I hate this PIF takeover of the region and its only the start. Its not going away and will get worse. 🤬

I'm making the most of this season and trying to see as much Durham cricket as possible as I know that the inevitable is just around the corner and when that time arrives that will be the finish for me.

It's been mentioned that we will become an extension of NUFC but they exist in name only now. We'll just be another brick in the wall that is the Saudi sportswashing project.

Very likely the same for me and my wife. I've been very vocal about the state of cricket in this country for a long time. I won't be able to support this.

Personally have suspected the PIF ( or whatever they are called) have been involved with Durham for a while now probably not direct financial help yet.
As far as Bostock goes his outburst 12 months ago basically tells you what he thinks and the reality is a few hundred county members are irrelevant.
As I'm getting older I actually attend less county cricket than I did even before I retired with the unfriendly schedule and very early start to the season. I reckon if this does happen then I will probably chuck it.

The beginning of the end was when we ceased to be a members owned club and virtually sold the club to Indian media merchants which was the seeds of franchise cricket.
how long franchise cricket will be viable outside India is very debatable so we simply ride the storm and the pre-franchise programme will return.
Sensible husbandry with the Hundred windfall should make cricket financially viable together with test match income and a properly promoted T20 competition.
If a Saudi financed franchise play matches at chester-le-st so be it short term- other that the same venue it's for no connection with Durham cricket.

Bostock is a banker and doesn't give a flying fuck where the money comes from. this has been brewing for ages and needs to be pushed back upon heavily. Blaydon races eh.
