This is Spinal Tap- BBC1 11.40PM

I met Harry Shearer. He was accompanying a band on tour in or around 1982, in the name of research. I had no idea who he was except he was American and he was ‘researching’.

The band shall rename nameless for reasons of propriety.
if I mentioned Wheels Of Steel, would I be close??

The only DVD commentary worth listening to.

The deleted scenes which make up another film running parallel to the proper film are superb as well.

I like that they had to cut from the shit sandwich review really quickly as they were clearly all pissing themselves laughing.

Although my favourite bit is....

"what a wanker, the crowd were still booing him when we came on stage"

The 'enge idea came from Black Sabbath's stage set for the Born Again tour.

"We’re very lucky in the band in that we have two visionaries, David and Nigel, they’re like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They’re two distinct types of visionaries, it’s like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water.”

Bad News was better.
They take a couple of schoolgirls on tour, basically grooming them, people forget the 80's & 90's were no better than the 70's in that respect.

Like many of those Comic Strip episodes, they were thin on laughs.

The Stairway to Heaven joke was funny though.
