watching this i reckon SAF v India is the new ashes :-?

just being facetious... both sides looking in slight or total disarray. with the home series coming up soon we can regroup and have to put things right or the ashes will be tougher than it ought to be in the circumstances.

poor/lazy shot from compton and loose shots from both trott and cook...

not learning any lessons at all. already on the plane home this lot.

Bumble got stuck right into Englands management in the summary.

For what its worth Atherton made a good point about the way McCullum went about captaincy aswell.

Game over. Disappointing but we'll still win the Ashes. Eng v SAF is the new Ashes

Why? Because australia are on a bit of a downward slope? They will always be a better cricketing nation than us and will continue to produce better players that us, just matter of time

We need motivation. We've played this series like it's a warm up. We turn up for the the big games. It's what sets us apart from the All-conquering Australian team from the 2000s

Didn't we just thrash India home and away?

We're missing Swann. Big time. The 3 quicks are as good as we have and as good an attack as you'll see anywhere. Shame we have the new Richard Illingworth supporting them

:lol: That was one of the greatest test sides ever ffs, this england side has never bee anywhere near that good

England are a good side but lets not get carried away here

It's been quite even over the last 40 years surprisingly.

In the ashes or all cricket?

England are a god side but not many players ive seen play for england would get into that side that beat us 5-0, if any tbf

Ashes. Agreed, but lets be honest that was a team of a lifetime, don't remind me of the 5-0 it cost me about 3k to see that

First time in years you could say that was very poor from England, 9 on the boundary was just pathetic. Smacks of a team without a plan.

Cook, Pietersen and Anderson from this team would get in, for a start.

So, who's stopping up? Anyone reckon we have a chance of salvaging a draw?!
Gonna be tough, can see us batting out a session and a half without worry . . .then a couple of quick wickets . . .cue panic. . .eventually bowled out with an hour to play

I'm going to bed at a reasonable hour and taping the cricket. I've got the luxury of being off work tomorrow so I'll watch it 'as live' then.

I hope you don't accidently discover the result before watching it. Turn off your phone, be careful when switching the TV on and go nowhere near Facebook and Twitter.

I think if we still had Trott in there would be a slim chance that we could bat all day and save the game but with our tail being so long now I suspect the game will last no more than 2 sessions.
