I disagreed with you when you said you don't change the game plan to the weather forecast. Thanks for confirming I was right ;)
You don’t when there’s 8 sessions left and there’s the potential to be all out for 150 with 2 and a bit says left in the game.

Once the base is set and games secure then you can gamble on the uncontrollables, I’ve never once said anything to the contrary.

Im really not sure what you’re taking about now to be honest, finally something we have in common:lol:

Time and place to be positive and we’ve got balance perfect last two tests.

A positive abd correct decision to open with stokes and Buttler last test.

A sensible decision to go orthodox in this test, set a base then build from there given we are in the 3rd day.

Good captaincy (something in which Root seems to get very little praise for) and good execution from the players.

I espect is to go on and win the series now.

I did look at it differently, could disagree more that the game was still in the balance ,it simply wasn’t, we were near enough 200 ahead after the first innings against a team who did not get 200 in total in the first innings, and we had 10 wickets in hand with them batting last, they had no chance of winning the game nil!

The only hope they had was to bat out time, therefore we needed to give us as much time as possible.

Was not suggesting going unorthodox but after 25 overs we were 58 for 0, which imo, was too negative, fortunately Sibley getting out allowed Root to play positive to get us on the good position we are,
