30 mate true expensive hobby like but yeh I could I'd be bloody useless I reckon used to play lots as a kid with mates but apart from playing a few games for my school haven't played competitively
I've barely played since school and I'm 27. Maybe 10-20 times in 10 years.

Depends on what you do. Bowling is quite easy to get back into a rhythm. My batting has been atrocious when I used to be quite handy.

Problem for me is I like to be in game and fielding is utterly shit. So it's a tough slog when you could be doing something else on a Saturday. Then committing to that every weekend is a difficult thing to do.

As I've played sporadically I've sometimes not even got a bowl and so put me off playing more. Despite being better than some I've played with.

Always preferred batting when with my mates never got much of a chance with school as the teachers favourites got to bat higher, always fancied learning to bowl spin, I can't throw far but always enjoyed fielding as wicket keeper
Just look at your local club then. They’ll have a play cricket site or Facebook page or something. See what they offer.
Yeh am on seaburn so there will be a few about

Cricket clubs can be very snobby places. I played midweek cricket for my old employer and there were snobby divisions within the team based on your ability.
I left that team for a number of reasons and reached out to all of my local clubs via email - offered my services as a net bowler, happy to make up the numbers in the 3rd XI etc and not one of them even replied

Some are definitely. Some are decent and just want players

I don't. I retired when I left my last team and got no responses from local teams. My back isn't up to it anymore so I had to reluctantly accept my fate

they weren’t like
You weren't mate I don't think I'm not going to name certain people water under the bridge now anyway, what happened to the team anyway

the smb team operated out of Houghton then a fair few of the core lads went to rise littletown cricket club out of the ashes and that took a fair chunk of their time up ... think the last social games that was organised on here were about 5 years ago

no idea if the social league that the smb played in is still going
