These new red seats

apparently some of the new seats have already been replaced under warranty as cracks have appeared on them

this has not been the case on the upper concourse

Just found this thread from when the new seats were installed.

To answer your question they have faded, and all the red seats in the lower North are now pink again.
It has to be the lights they use on the pitch as the seats looked brand new on STID and that was only 2 years ago they won't have been sun dyed in that time.

Some of the editing on STID was using crowd shots from years ago. Those lamps for the pitch won't have caused this.
They need to invest in a cover for the lower bank of seats if they are to maintain the lifespan of the seats. One outlay on that will save them thousands in the future. @Guinness Guzzler Any chance of mentioning that when stadium maintenance is brought up at the meetings?

It’s just rubbish quality of seat , the stadium has been open since 1997 and even when you look back at the Roy Keane days the seats are bright red he arrived in 2006 so that’s 9 years they lasted atleast , can’t remember when they actually started to turn pink , but these new ones that Donald and co installed are just cheap and that’s why they haven’t lasted half as long

The crowd footage was but the game where onien came back from injury the actually football footage the seats look brand new.

Regardless its needs sorting what ever it is becuase it looks tacky as owt but it's probably low down on the list of things to fix imo

Would it not make more sense to just have the entire lower bowl and partially the upper as white seating, with red bands running around the circumference of the stadium in the rows towards the back… or something to that effect. Failing that, they need to buy some UV resistant covers for the affected areas. It looks shite again already, it was very noticeable on Tuesday.

Was easily done by other clubs during Covid can’t for the life of me understand why they didn’t think of doing this* after installing the new seats

* because they are penny pinching and clueless

The seats they procured in 2018 were the cheapest of the cheap, they even conned the fans into fitting them. They were hardly going to stay red under a few years of sunlight.
