The Tifo

Sure did.
Another attempt by the club of "forced fun" on the supporters - just like that daft foghorn.
Crikey, lighten up
The Lambton Worm is part of North East - more importantly, Wearside - folklore. And it's not, as another poster said, poetry - it's a song. The club is just recognising our heritage. Nothing forced, just enjoy it for what it is.
The club has improved PR and marketing immeasurably since David Bruce arrived. Credit where it's due... not criticism, surely.

Perfect for the Eliza / Sam Fender alternative version.

Tell me this is a wind up!

The foghorn and light show is great.

You will be wanting us to hum Away in a Manger instead of belting out Wise Men Say ffs.
It's "Can't help falling in love " marra.
And that light show is gash by the way.

So are songs not poems.? Do Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Billy Bragg etc. not write poems?

He's ultra negative where any displays or attempt to improve the atmosphere is concerned for some bizarre reason.

It's not.

That's the original song that hasn't been adopted as a football chant to include Sunderland lyrics.

The title of the chant is WMS.
Who is the artist singing it when it is played over the P.A. at the SOL then?
The one and only Elvis Presley- he did not release a chart a song called "Wise men say" to the best of my recollection.

Nor did he release a song with Sunderland lyrics iirc....

When the song is played like that it's it's the song title.

When our chant is going off its WMS.

Just like how loads of other football chants have different titles to the tune they are chanted to.

It's not a new thing Butch lad.

Nor should it be difficult to grasp.

God bless.

Bye x

For anyone who hasn’t seen it - or wants a point of reference to educate the clueless - here’s the battle with the Worm from Bryan Talbot’s version of the story in Alice in Sunderland.

Note the nice little touch at the end where Sir John Lambton volleys its head into the Wear. Carlos Edwards would have been proud of that shot.
I'm glad he did something about the wyrm, it was being a right pain in the arse. It was alright when it first showed up, eating fish and the odd sheep, but when it ate me wife I was fuming, I went straight up to my lord lampton and said "your windows are garn through every night until you sort that sh*tting wyrm out aye".
