Never 70,ooo.

Added a corner and an upper tier behind a goal and got an extra 6,000 seats. Do that at the other end and it's up to 54,000.

The Premier Concourse has 6,000 seats. And then the other two corners would be another 3,000 apiece.

48,000
6,000 South Stand extension
6,000 South East and North East corners
6,000 East Stand upper tier
66,000

Nevertheless this thread is bullshit anyway

First of all Dortmund are part of Ruhr, population within 100km = 25 million
Not saying your wrong mate, but Germany's total population is 82 million are you sure 25 million of those live 63 miles or less from Dortmund

This. It's not a working class game anymore, and this is predominantly a working class area. Ticket prices are just obscene, the game is screwed for the very people it used to attract.
This is the reason I mentioned Dortmund. Working class area, with a very cheap ticket price policy. A season ticket with Dortmund also includes home CL matches. Their model is fantastic for the ordinary working class fan. You can stand, drink and even smoke inside the stadium.

How do they get champions league tickets with season tickets, their capacity drops by about 15000-20000 in champions league matches?

Let's say, hypothetically, that we became successful over the next five years. Do we have the potential fanbase to extend the stadium to have two tiers right the way round? It would look absolutely class. And imagine rivalling Newcastle's 65000....

Let's get out of the Championship first.

Look, NRW alone got a population of about 18 million.. 30 of the 80 biggest cities in Germany are in NRW.
63 miles would take you to Eindhoven in Holland at a guess.

Love how this thread was started half way through a match that 15,000 people attended.

I was under the impression further expansion was linked to getting the world cup. So it is probably better we didn't get it because anymore expansion would be left empty. It would look very impressive as a stadium, but embarrassing with 20 odd thousand empty seats each home game.

Think it would have happened had we won the 2018 World Cup bid.

When things are shit, our fanbase is around 15,000 to 20,000. When things are more like the Reid days of good football and top 7, easily get between 45,000 and 50,000 average home supporters in a fully two teir stadium.

Things have been 'shit' for 2.5 years but the average is still 40,000.

I mean proper shit. Not being a bit crap in the top flight. The sort of shit we might have been in had Drumville with Quinn not come in and made that quick turnaorund after the 15 pointer. Had we ended up in League One, things would have really been shit. And then maybe lucky to get that 15,000 mark I said!
