I saw these when visiting the twin resorts of the Sunderland Riviera yesterday around noon and saw more than a few people looking up at the sky in a Southerly direction. Looked nice but I refrained from joining in taking photos but now I've found this thread my curiosity has been satisfied.

Crepuscular rays. I saw some fantastic ones over Clay Bank and the northern edge of the NYM a couple of weeks ago but was driving so couldn’t take a photo.

I managed to watch the last partial eclipse in 2022 using a welding mask

I saw the solar (total, or near on total) eclipse in France (?Spain) in the late nineties, I seem to remember some special solar eclipse viewing card/eye protection that was handed out. It was strangely eerie going dark(ish) in the middle of the day.
