Agree.That is true - so Dan Neil needs to look at himself, serve a suspension, and I’m sure his manager will also make him take responsibility for his decision.
What will happen to the ref? Will he take responsibility for his own decisions- that he ruined a game of football, that he didnt book other players for similar offences, that he decided the game single. Will his manager take him to task? Nope.
The ref decided the game.
He will have the game assessed. He will not get the punishment he deserves for such an inept performance.
But he didn't decide the game. He made a decision to book DN, correctly in my view, and he only did that because DN gave him a decision to make.
He swore at the referee, and showed dissent man.He appealed for a free kick just like hundreds of players do thousands a time a season.
I hate it as much as you do, but that is what happened.
