The re-branding of caravans

I'd fancy a posh tree house with all the mod cons probably in Sweden if I had the money Hot tub on ground level with 2 blondes would be the icing on the cake

A cheap tourer is canny as it means you can get away for buttons if cash is tight, you can get something serviceable for a few grand. At the other end of the scale spending 40-50k for a static in Yorkshire plus 5k a year in site fees is shit value imo. Some people rent them out to help cover costs like.

To be fair a lot of the statics cost more than some people's houses and are far better equipped. I couldn't afford the ones I'd want and certainly wouldn't want to rent it out to people. So yes they are 'lodges' really

This. A top spec lodge in Fallbarrow, Bowness costs £600k.

My yearly holiday as a kid.

Hate them. Do you know how disturbing it is as a 12 year old hearing your mam and dad bonking in the next room, divided by cardboard walls and a fake wood looking veneer ?

@radjee gadjee he's talking about you

My caravan is just that. A caravan. But I don't hoyke the thing about any more. Sited it in north yorks.
When lockdown is over and non of you fuckers can get booked in anyway I'll have my little patch in the Dales to escape to.
I suspect you won't be going to it for another year or more

I would definitely have a static caravan if it wasn't for the ridiculous pricing structure, where you pay 30k, and then pay massive annual fees and then it's only allowed stay for a predetermined time before they set fire to it and make you pay another 30k.

Down here in Yorkshire they call them sheds, and a person that owns one is a shedder. Shed on wheels I guess.

Have heard people call them holiday homes at work only admitting it’s an actual caravan on further probing, too proud to call it what it is.
In Yorkshire it's a Carra Van
Subtle bit sounds weird

My parents had a static in Thirsk and spent most their time there, we’d been there a lot as kids in normal caravan. So, I bought my UK House in Thirsk, so could be close to them when home, they had the keys for up keep of the house. Came home the first time, they had flogged the static and was using my house as their get away.

Its amazing how many people get wound up about holiday homes. Caravans , motor homes. ,statics ? Does it matter these people are contributing to our knackered economy while snobby bastards spend in the EU we just left whilst polluting the airways. Stay loyal spend UK this year any way you like .

Bloke I worked with used to say ‘I’m taking the van down easingwold’

I read a newspaper article not long ago saying after his marriage dissolved he slept with a lass 14 and was caught and jailed. Not saying ’the van’ was to blame but if he’d took his lass to Bali instead she might not have left him
[/Q
Canny drive to Bali in a van
