The plane fly past is back on...

What you don't get Keith is that the time between the win and the plane going over is too great, it has lost all it's impact and humour. Everyone knows that comedy is all about the timing. If by some chance you'd had a plane on standby to fly over the SOL with the 5-0 message at full time it would have been hilarious, brilliant, but not now. This is desperation to get one over on them but they'll lap it up and laugh their tits off at you. It's your choice and your money so good luck to you but I'm cringing at the thought, not cringing for me because I have nothing to do with it but I'm cringing for you mate.

It's their first home match since our win, it's live on Sky and the whole idea was taking the piss out of their planned protests for this very game, including a plane. The fact that they couldn't organise a plane themselves and that we got beat Saturday are completely out of our hands. The funding was in place and deposit paid on Saturday morning.

I hope they get stuffed tonight, more power to their protests, bed sheets and all :)

Don't cringe for me Neil is never going to replace Don't cry for me Argentina... :)

Firstly, nobody masterminded the plane. It was a joke in response to the mags planning a protest that snowballed. I donated £5 and had a laugh. When the mags (the supporters of a relegation rival who you want to win 4-0) curtailed the funding raising I offered to help to stop the mags getting one over on us.

I was asked to be a mod on this site. There are times when I do no modding for days on end, there are times I'm on here quite a bit, the same as you. The majority of the time it takes less time a day than it's taken me to reply to you.

BTW how many do you want the mags to win by tonight?
None because it would scupper my coupon!

That's just it I don't get the fact you travel 700 miles as a reason for this going ahead, I travel 600 miles round trip for every home game and thinks it's a terrible idea. As for ramming opinions down people's throats, this is a messageboard, a social medium for expressing opinions, what people are doing with this plane reflects on each and every Sunderland fan.

I have never said that traveling that distance is a reason for this to go ahead, as I said before I was giving you my reasons (not that I need to) why I think its a bit of fun.

Yes it is for expressing opinions which is one of the good parts of having a forum like this but it's not here for trying to put your own beliefs on others time and time again and insulting them in the process by not agreeing with you

Same as the actions of 150 people shouldn't be actions that reflect on 1000's of Sunderland fans

The whole idea is f***ing pathetic and far too late. I work on the doorstep of sid James and the mags were saying today it's really quite sad and small time and they will just retaliate with similar WHEN we go down AGAIN!

We are better than this! Just give it to a deserving charity!

How many more times..................... not one safc fan mooted the idea of having a plane to gloat that would have been small time and sad. They failed to get our"go fund me" collection derailed (why do that if they are "not bothered" ?) and they have failed yet again to organise a plane with their message of Ashley out.

Good luck to them organising something in retaliation (IF we go down again not WHEN) I wouldn't go holding my breath mind as they don't seem very good at it.

If the Newcastle fans had organised the plane they'll be thinking they've made a balls up with the banners. They'll be shouting who the fuck is responsible for this utter shit

According to your previous post no one will care find it funny or know whats going on so it won't reflect on anyone

Firstly you make out because you travel 700 miles round trip to home games your opinion is more worthy than anybody else's :rolleyes:

Secondly do you hand on heart think anybody but the 150 fans who have contributed will find it amusing, my guess is anybody from outside the North East will not even have a clue what it's about, it's not even funny, most will be thinking "what's that, don't get it, back to watching the match"

please stop contradicting yourself

Do you get to ride in the plane on Sunday?

How are the donations that are purely for charity, not for a plane doing now @Keith S30S ?

I imagine all these well wishers concerned it should all go to charity are filling your account up.

The Palace result killed the donations stone dead.

The 'well wishers' could have set their own charity fund up of course but that would have taken them 5 or 10 minutes so none of them have bothered.

On how many other occasions has this type of stunt been pulled?

Only one I am aware of is Millwall sending a plane to Blackburn/burnley when West Ham were relegated there. Banner said 'Avram Grant. Millwall legend'.

Millwall were not about to be relegated at the time.
