In terms of the good reputation of our fans, then it has the potential to do similar damage. It will get lots of publicity and despite what the people on here think, it won't be spun in our favour and will make us like like small time narrow minded idiots and for once I will find it hard to disagree. Contrary to the mags being offended by it, they will use it as ammunition in years to come. You are just playing into their hands.

Just giving an alternative view, from someone who has baited the mags all my life. Doesn't really matter, but shows the poor level of piss taking if you have to call die hard safc fans 'skunks'. Happy to go with majority but tynevalley was talking sense, imo. I'm enjoying them saying they don't care, but all they talk about.

Maybe its because of where I live that makes me anti this idea. It's where I live (Gosforth) that makes me think this is a great idea. I care not a jot about what my neighbours think of Sunderland fans, they favour Rugby on my street anyway. This is a stunt that will be seen for what it is by the football fans in these parts; a reference to a history making sequence of wins at a time when their club languishes like a rudderless ship. The thoughtful ones will raise a wry smile.
I can assure you that I will find it equally funny when they do eventually beat us and decide to 'retaliate'.

Hate to tell you but up here in Scotland we're still seen as the club who went down with 15 points and keep appointing daft managers and they are known as the deluded wallopers who punch horses.
