The Pep myth

His brand of football is usually good to watch. The problem is all the other managers trying to play a budget version of it, Bromley have to accept they don't have the players to play out form the back.

The bloke is so far inside his own head that he appears to be having a nervous breakdown - at the very least some form of burnout. I've never liked him, and never particularly liked the football he brings. Death by a thousand passes, and talented wingers who play diagonal passes back inside all the time, isn't really my cup of tea.

I suspect he might walk away from football.

Disagree with that part, bores the life out of me. Agree with the rest of it though, been mental the effect he’s had on English football the past few year.

That's an absolutely shocking result.

IMHO I think that he might be advised to consider whether he has come to the end at Man City. Everyone has an end date and maybe his has passed.

I still think he is a great manager but sometimes you can overstay your welcome and a new challenge is required.
As if the result in that tinpot pointless tournament today actually matters.
What it does is confirm that last season wasn't some sort of one off. Man City should have hammered The Saudis. There has to be some serious question marks over the Man City defence now.

Unusually for them their recruitment has been rather bad for 2-3 years now. Not sure how much of a role Guardiola plays in that but the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Jack Grealish have been poor.

Might be slightly harsh on Grealish but I don’t think he’s ever been a £100m player.

100% this ^
I make a point of avoiding City games. Horrible football to watch. Talented wide men like Grealish , being coached to turn 180d and pass back into midfield instead of taking on the FB.
Doku hasn't been there as long but you can see his skill is being stunted the same way.
