The Pep myth

They've got the biggest revenue in English football. He squandered a lot of money Man Utd can be champions with the right manager.

As far as he could 🤣

And how many windows did it take Pep and Klopp? 4 each to win anything. It took him 2.

He did sign a few duds the lad from Dortmund and Alexis Sanchez notably but Dalot and Lindelof are still playing which suggests he was on the right track.

He’d win the league again with Chelsea through mate as well as with Real Madrid with record points iirc and the treble at Inter Milan. Man Utd was a failure but he still finished second and won the UEFA Cup.
It was just really in response to winners not going to middling clubs and you don’t get much more middling than Tottenham.
I don’t disagree but it’s been pretty clear since the Man United stint he’s just not someone the major sides want anymore, he’s either a Tottenham or Roma outskirts in a big league with potential to be decent but never likely to win League or Champions League sort or Fenerbahce big club in a smaller league are the best he can hope for these days

he never inherited Messi, Xavi, Iniesta et al, he coached them at under 18 level...in essence he developed them and when he was elevated from youth team to first team they were steeped in how he wanted to play.
That's not quite accurate. Pep actually played with Xavi, and Xavi was 28 years old when Pep got the Barcelona job.
Messi was already established in the first team whilst Pep was still playing.
Iniesta had played over 200 first team games when Guardiola got the job.

None but loads will have worked their way up and proved they're good managers.
Cloughy did. Walked on Derby and ended up at forest in the league below. Outshone his earlier achievements. Fergie also started at lower level. There's always a question mark in those who've never done it at lower, imo, harder levels.
