The Pep myth

I would not want to be a football manager or owner for any amount of money.

I would list the exact reasons why but I would get pelters on here so I’ll leave it there.

Hang on, you said you could run Man City. That's the whole reason for the conversation.

Yes I could. But I wouldn’t. There is an important distinction between the two factors.

The previous several managers for Man City couldn't do it. Chelsea and Man United's last several managers couldn't do it despite spending several hundred millions of pounds.

But Big Jeff off the SMB could do it.

That’s an accurate summation of the situation.

Brava.

Let’s be blunt here, anyone could manage Man City and win everything.

Let’s see Pep manage with no transfer budget in Division 2.

Then we will know if he’s any good.

I could run Barca, Bayern and Man City for gods sake.
Well they didn't before Pep...

He's a complete weapon. Probably one of the biggest idiots on this board, and that's saying something!

You don’t know me. You need to have met me to confirm I’m one of the biggest idiots on here. It normally takes a person a good thirty seconds to make that deduction.

Surprised that he's staying for another year. By the end of this season it'll be 9 years at City which by modern standards is a ridiculously long managerial spell, particularly given how intense and obsessive he is about football, and it looks like they need a bit of a rebuild.

Having a right nightmare. Another billion in January should sort this out. Just like all the other greatest managers ever Clough, Ferguson, Paisley and Peter Reid needed to be a success.
