Alex Lees really should be next cab off the rank, yet he isn’t. Without overly disgracing himself he’s probably never going to play for England again.
I thought Lees was unlucky as well, he seemed to really improve under them, In the West Indies the series over there before Stokes and McCullum took over he seemed uptight and afraid to play shots and like you say a lot less fluent.A bit harshly treated for me. I know he didn't make big numbers but he was improving and looked much more fluent under Stokes/McCullum. He also had a few unlucky dismissals as well, I remember Crawley running him out mercilessly in one test!
I feel sorry for him. Think it was against that world class Indian attack that he cruised to something like 60 odd in no time and looked well set for a century only for Root to run him out?Alex Lees really should be next cab off the rank, yet he isn’t. hes proven he can get on with it too, but if crawley is injured i cant see them calling anyone else up, just play another bowler and have stokes openI feel sorry for him. There were several unlucky dismissals that summer for him and then he was dropped.
We've played 27 and won 17 under Stokes.(27 includes the one off test he did in 2020 we lost to WI)I think to entertain like only he can. And he did.
I think Stokes' leadership credentials are top notch. He has a vision and a method and his 'mission' appear to be to win while entertaining.
The game was basically already won.

Whoever's been updating that Wiki entry must be drunk. As we've only won 4 of the last 8 tests![]()
Hyperlink on Stokes name went to wiki but yeah it's bizarrely wrong.Interesting.
I wasn't wiki, it was co-pilot on windows.
Given ten tests and only averaged 25 or thereabouts.Alex Lees really should be next cab off the rank, yet he isn’t. Without overly disgracing himself he’s probably never going to play for England again.
