The most boring films ever. Really?

Someone at The Guardian has published the results from a survey (source unknown so far) as to which films the nation sees as boring. For me, there are one or two classics in there.

I wonder if it's because folk are becoming a bit impatient with everything these days? For example, I read that (musical) artists are now trying to get the hook into a song within the first 30 seconds, simply so it suits the Spotify generation.

Anyway, here's that list...

1. 50 Shades of Grey
2. The Blair Witch Project
3. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
4. Brokeback Mountain
5. Transformers
6. The Postman
7. The Artist
8. Australia
9. Vanilla Sky
10. Seven Years in Tibet
11. Batman and Robin
12. 2001: A Space Odyssey
13. The Matrix Revolutions
14. Showgirls
15. Far and Away
16. The Tree of Life
17. Noah
18. Meet Joe Black
19. Lincoln
20. Cleopatra

Love songs with really long intros, imagine if Pink Floyd didn't do intros!

i can imagine if writing music to a format, or for the commercial bit then this could be true. is it because the modern generation are having so much 'information' being fired at them they need something to to appeal straight away otherwise the mind wanders to the next thing being fired at them...

as for the op, i don't see fight club on this list so its flawed imho...

Fight Club? You have gone way down in my opinion! There are only 4 films on that list I haven't seen and the only one I would take issue with would be The Artist which is a lovely and far from boring film. It's got a dog in it! How can that be boring? :)

Now, Atonement, there's a boring film.
Went to the cinema to see that. You could hear a pin drop at the end so when I "what a pointless pile of shite" it really carried.

13. The Matrix Revolutions
and Reloaded are two of the worst films ever made. I try to convince myself that nothing was allowed to happen after The Matrix

I just think they are very average. The Wakowskis went too far up their own arses with nonsensical philosophy that didn't really mean much of anything. The action set pieces were great, the plot wasn't bad either.

It was pretty ridiculous though.
The concept for the first one was excellent but I think they ruined it with the second 2

Years ago, walked out on Joe Versus The Volcano -boring AND shite.

More recently, The Mummy (despite being a Cruise fan), the latest Transformers and Overdrive (despite that Ana lass being an absolute WAD!)
