The Mortal Hound…

Start at Ship Isis -> Dun Cow -> Mortal Hound -> Ivy House -> Diego's -> End at Vaux.

Each place has guest/taster beers on for the craft crawl, if they all market it then you could make a proper thing out of it. Have a food vendor at VAUX for the finish line.

Edit: I had to use The Emporium as an example in Google Maps, you need to add Mortal Hound to Google Maps @Blockyard

Needs a bit of work, there's some long walks there..topper that it ends next to ours mind!

All dog friendly by my reckoning, that'll wind up a few on here!

It's a fine balancing act to please everyone as some of the beers that appeal to craft ale wankers like myself might be too pricey for others, Verdant, Cloudwater etc. Good reasonably priced cask may keep some happy, with a bit of more pricey keg stuff for us hazy fans

In Newcastle last week the Tap seemed ridiculously pricey, dunno if they're trying to shaft the stag parties. £11.20 for a pint of a 6.5% Sureshot IPA is ludicrous.

Locally I'd also suggest Two by Two, Vaux, Wylam, further afield Pollys are consistently good.

If I don't get down before I'll almost certainly be in before or after the Mallorca game.
Prices round that area in general are a bit silly nowadays like. Noticeably so. Even just for normal lager.

Cut down the long gaps, add a few stops:
Dun cow - isis - fitzies - mortal hound - blandford - diegos - terminus - vauxs

Assume you're joking   Also it's a 49m walk in total over the course of probably a full day, will help burn the calories from those pints

I don't mind fitzies tbf. Blandford was a joke and think terminus has been shut a canny while.

Need a few more spots on your list though, park lane to diegos is quite a trek on a pub crawl.

Likewise vaux is a long way and theres nowhere to break it up.

Id suggest ending at pop recs with some kind of event on
Sooner do Fire Station and Peacock. Fire Station gets a bad press on here but they sell some good keg options, Salt and Verdant last time I was in.

Not been in peacock in ages but aye. Peacock-fire station-dun cow-isis- over the new bridge to sheepfolds development when complete and ending in vauxs is another possibility down the road

Sadly my days of 10-12 pint crawls are behind me. I like planning, and dreaming, though.

Hi, i work with Blockyard Brew co and also with Mortal Hound.

Thought id pop by and say hello and try to clear up any questions you may have about the new bar that has opened in Sunderland.

The brewery has nothing to do with 1 more than 2 brew, we aquired the equipment last year, and Chris the brewer came down for a short period to set up the brewery ready for it being taken over by a new team.
Aside from now owning the equipment we have no affilliation with the old brewery.

The bar is a Micro Pub more than a Taproom. although we do have a few Blockyard beers on its not our main focus and this will vary depending on what beers we would like to see on the bar each week, we aim to make a welcoming bar with a line up of changing beers.

As this was our first weekend, we were focused on trialing what hours suit the area best and making sure the setup for the cellar/bar/sound system and such is right for going forward.

We only had a small selection of craft ales available for our opening as we tested the waters, we will begin stocking more beers as we progress including bottles, cans, cask, and keg, from various local and not so local breweries.

Once we are settled in with our open schedule, we will begin work on opening the kitchen space for making light bites, bar snacks and various other treats for people to enjoy.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and i will do my best to answer them for you.

Thanks.
Me and my lass came in on Saturday and enjoyed it mate, definitely come back again.

There's better options for beer but the pizzas are very nice. Prices seemed to have taken a big step forward in a few places. £8 odd for a 5% Pollys pale in the Town Wall.
Haven’t been in the Town Wall for ages, must be pre covid, but if that’s their prices these days (I know not all might be that high), I can’t see me rushing back any time soon.

Hi folks, sorry I have been quite busy the past few days and don't get to check here too often, I'll read through when I'm back home later today, as for buying beers from the brewery. It's mainly wholesale cask and keg, but we do cans from time to time, these tend to go straight out to various places. But might be able to arrange something when we get fresh batches I can put a post in here for you to pop down.

Usually we have the door closed when working, as its a working space and not really covered for members of the public we have to be cautious incase of any accidents or injuries.

Oh also, to the lad who messaged the Facebook page and didn't get a response, I am unable to reply to your messages due to some setting on your profile. But yes we will be getting more maxim beers in future as we expand the range we offer
