It's not a mass protest though is it, it's just fans deciding they don't want to pay to watch crap (which I can understand) there was no mass decision to stay away until change was had.

"cafe"
Aye reeto, you know the square root of fuck all about me..
Does it really need to be a mass protest though, the gradual wearing down of supporters achieves the required result. Your place could be empty for 10 consecutive games, but if you all renew your season tickets, then the money’s in the till anyway, so what’s the point of that?

So the empty ground was a protest then? Hadaway and shyte will you, you stayed away because the football was crap.. Don't give me this was some kind of protest.
The football had been crap for a while my decision to give up season tickets was based on why should I put money in the pocket of the owner when he is not putting any back into rebuilding the team.

13m combined

getting in 27m from Mitrovic.

10m from Merino

3.5m from Selz

Maths not your strong suit ?
Why when Newcastle fans talk about the net spend they never take into consideration what the players were bought for.
Mitrovic was 14.5 million, you be sold him for 22m (not 27m). Therefore the profit is 7.5m.

Whichever way you look at it, we got rid of our owner and sent a message to him. We probably left it too late tho.

What happens if you start the season well and are high up the table, it’ll all be forgotten about just like it did when you finished last season strongly.

Which owner would you have, Ashley or Short?
Short prior to the last two seasons with you, (he was a disgrace when you were in the Championship) so long as the football people he hired was different to the ones he hired for you lot. He was just incompetent I think, Ashley is a business man so will run the club well, but have zero ambition. I personally don't see the point in having an ambition to just survive, it's tiresome. Short seems like a bit of a moron in football sense, Ashley is just a C*%T.

If we start off well and are high up the table, ofcourse we will be happy, but we still want a change, we want Ashley gone. If we get a new owner, it could be better the devil you know, they could throw everything at a "title shot" (no I don't think we will ever win the title in my lifetime) but sod it, go big or go home.

I get that, and am not slagging anyone that chose to do that, I am however disagreeing that this was a mass protest.

We're talking about the here and now.

This season.

We've recouped / are recouping 40m+ in transfer fees.

We will get 50m or so in tv monies

We've spent less than 15m so far.

It doesn't take a genius to see that something is not right . We are being out spent by Huddersfield, Wolves , Fulha.

I suppose the end justifies the means, but lets not rewrite history as was said way back up there, this was not a mass organised protest, this was just fans leaving.

Now some would argue that you lot threw your toys out of the pram and didn't turn up, fair weather fans. Personally I don't think that.
The other thing is, we have a manager and a group of players that actually seem to try, you had players that seemed not to give a fook. Had we had a playing staff that took the piss like yours, we might have had the same drop in attendance. We just recognize/assume/believe(insert what ever) that our team tried, and the owner was holding us back (although he did back Rafa in the Championship, more out of self preservation I think however) So we turned up to support the team.

Either way it's worked for you, I don't believe it will work for us, he either wants to stay or can't leave :(

If a lot of people do it surely it's a mass protest?

Have you even generated any money - you had a load of debt in the last accounts.

The debt has always been there even when running at a profit. It's a loan that isn't being repayed and there's no interest on it, so it's almost irrelevant unless the owner wants to start getting repaid or if somebody wants to buy the club. There's only been one repayment made on the loan to Ashley of £11m about 6 or 7 years ago.

Short ran us into the ground over a ten year period.. we just didn’t know how fucked we were until we went down. Even in the Prem we were leaking 20/30m a year. Ashley doesn’t want to leak £30,000,000 a year and he’s got you 10th in the Prem. good for him.

Antony from Newcastle, dear me hopefully Talksport put his phone call online.

His best 2 were, "me and my son are season ticket holders, my son is 10 and you know what, he's never seen Newcastle beat Sunderland, his first away game was at Sunderland he was 4 and we lost" He also suggested standing at the turnstiles and stopping people from going in on match days.

Any link to this call?
