That money is earmarked for his binns investment though. For an outwardly astute businessman he doesn’t half invest in some rubbish.

A silent, dignified and classy protest  it worked didn't it? Ellis short has gone

You lot go on like idiots towards your owner, fuck knows why like, and he's still there

If this was a mass protest I will show my arse in Woolworths window

You lot stopped going because the football was crap, simple as that, although some may have decided to stay away on protest.
By the way I personally don't have a problem with that, get served shit, you stop going, that's fine with me.

So the empty ground was a protest then? Hadaway and shyte will you, you stayed away because the football was crap.. Don't give me this was some kind of protest.
Half empty ground actually, and yes it was a protest. Poor administration led to poor appointments everywhere within the club, managers, players, etc... when rubbish is put before you, you have the choice of accepting it or refusing it.

Just out of interest, if you went to your favourite restaurant (probable a cafe actually), and over time the quality of the food being served deteriorated to the point you complained every time , would you keep going just because you used to love it at one time?

Couple of my Mag mates reckon that when Spain sacked their manager before the World Cup the Newcastle board immediately got in contact with the Spanish FA and asked them if they fancied appointing Rafa, you heard out like that?
Yeah it's been doing the rounds, I don't know how true it is however.

It's not a mass protest though is it, it's just fans deciding they don't want to pay to watch crap (which I can understand) there was no mass decision to stay away until change was had.

Aye reeto, you know the square root of fuck all about me..

Like them gravy slurpers would shop there
They just stand outside mouths agape gazing at the bonny lights, and occasionally lick the windows

@Eddie Hitler . Gonna need a bigger boat for this one mate.

If Lascelles goes then the meltdoon will be class. He’s a decent player but Christ the way some of them lot go on you’d think he was Maldini and Beckenbauer’s love child

Of course the footy was crap, that's why a load stopped going and it worked.

It looked awful on the telly with empty pink seats n that, but not half as bad as you lot make yourselves look in the national media. People laugh at you ffs

Whichever way you look at it, we got rid of our owner and sent a message to him. We probably left it too late tho.

What happens if you start the season well and are high up the table, it’ll all be forgotten about just like it did when you finished last season strongly.

Which owner would you have, Ashley or Short?

Why the top flight? 40K is nothing in the championship tbh. You should be looking at that at least now the reason for the stayaways has been removed.

You can then go to 45K plus if/when you get back to the top division.
It really is a struggle trying to have a reasonable conversation with some of your lot. I’ll try to put it in simpler terms for you.

When everything was going well, we were getting around 42-44k in the top flight.

When performances are dire, people refuse to pay to watch it.

When people demand change, they tend to stay away until a change is made.

When teams are relegated, crowds do tend to drop off, less home fans and significantly less away fans.

When teams are relegated again, see above.

When change is made, people who wanted change will return.

When performance pick up, more will return.

When promoted and playing better teams, more will return and always numbers pick up.

When back in the top flight, crowds will probably return to 40k+.

Hope that makes sense because I really can’t make it any simpler. Obviously in your ideal world, everyone would just turn up regardless and take whatever’s put in front of them.

That's like asking would you rather eat fried shit or boiled shit.

Preferably neither, but if you have to choose one then you're picking the lesser of two evils.

Well.... he's got Sports Direct, USC, Flannels, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Cruise, Blacks, Millets, Mambo, Donnay, Slazenger, Sports World, Lillywhites, Dunlop, Karrimor and probably more.

The tramps will be down to wearing George at Asda if they boycoutt that lot.

They have the stink of the Moyes season we had, a disinterested manager, a frustrated fan base and limited funds for improvement wasted by a incompetent manager.

Some epic breakdowns on the way soon.

Merino had a £10m release clause, and according to reports and comments always planned on going back to Spain after a year or two. Apparently wouldn't have agreed to sign permanently unless a low release clause was in the contract.
Shame we didn't have him longer as I thought he was promising.
Don't know why benitez would sign him if he wanted to back after a year seems odd
