They didn't nick the song. They nicked the tune with different words. It puts a whole new slant on things. In no way is it like the cricketers singing Blaydon races. Daft comparison.I never said that
I said sunderland fans copied the song off the mags which they did (which changed lyrics but ultimately it was nicked off the mags) and nowt was ever said about it.
suddenly durham singing it after all these years is getting non cricket fans and non attending fans wound up. bizarre
yet you're moaning about a cricket side in durham singing about a county durham songThey didn't nick the song. They nicked the tune with different words. It puts a whole new slant on things. In no way is it like the cricketers singing Blaydon races. Daft comparison.

I've been going since 80s regular. Never heard the Blaydon Races sang other than the Sunderland Aces version. And that was way back.2009 the last time I heard it. Went on for ages after Cisse give us the lead at SJP in the 1-1 game
"Gannin along the Scotswood Road" version? Not denying your experience. I've just never ever heard that sang by Sunderland fans with 40 plus years of support under my belt....Sang it many times, no problem with it mind canny enough song but it was a very popular away day song during my time going to away games, more the early 2000s

Can't believe this is still rumbling on, its really very simple.
If DCCC have sang this since minor county days then it's pre1992 so before football existed therefore its a neutral north east song with no direct relation to any sport except an actual race

I was there n'all. Never heard it. Especially not going on for ages. Its not the type of song that goes on for ages. A couple of short blasts then that's it, or at least it was back in the 80's when I last heard it

this on both postsYou must be a bit deaf if you have heard it since the 80s? I only started going in 1996 and have heard it often until the late 00s
I don't think anyone is suggesting anything other than the sunderland aces version?
It's the same song. Jesus. Can pick a fight in a phone box.Not the Scotswood Road version.
Just saying.....
If im not mistaken man u sang there own version in the 80sI never said that

Round of applause, Sir. Excellent work.Typical magpies; thieving vermin attracted to shiny things that don't belong to them, while gobbling down any morsel that's put in front of them and shitting all over.
The one positive for the feathery ones is they're very intellegent, probably more so than your average nufc mag.
His twitter feed is one screaming out for help and acceptance by someone.fuck the mags, fuck newcastle and fuck the saudis.
Chris Armin needs his hard drive checking.
Lol. Calm down. Not sure what you are getting so angry about. Laughable tbh. It's the same song. Jesus. Can pick a fight in a phone box.
When I first joined the smb some people used to do board raids to wind up posters on other random board. These days the smb'ers do board raids on their own boards.
Anyways, I'm off.
The mods don't seem to want to stop this rubbish, so see yers for a while.
