The Hundred 2023

Robinson would’ve done it off 42 balls.

My eyes weren’t deceiving me the other day, Marcus North there in full superchargers kit. Whatever his role there you’d like to think he would be pushing what’s best for Durham and their players, such as releasing those not playing back to Durham.

Friday 11th August

Women 3pm
Northern Supercharges v Oval Invincibles
Headingley, Leeds
SOLD OUT

Men 6.30pm
Northern Supercharges v Oval Invincibles
Headingley, Leeds
SOLD OUT

Were there thousands of people dressed as white seats?

Genuine question, before anyone starts to cry, but I’ve seen several clips and pictures on social media and there are thousands of white seats visible. So if it’s sold out, how has that happened? People just not turning up? Or grounds selling tickets for only 50% of the ground and misrepresentation of the phrase ‘sold out’??

Or is it just further evidence of @PeteFTM and the SpamBot telling lies?

Saturday 12th August

Women 11am
London Spirit v Trent Rockers
Lord's, London
SOLD OUT

Men 2.30pm
London Spirit v Trent Rockers
Lord's, London
SOLD OUT

Women 2.30pm
Welsh Fire v Southern Brave
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff

Men 6pm
Welsh Fire v Southern Brave
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff

I wouldn’t say there’s much argument for BDL getting in this team
Gus Atkinson looks seriously good

Another talent unearthed by The Hundred, same as Brook
They could have played for Durham is the point.

Raine too at the Werthers Originals

Robinson instead of McKinney and BDL/Potts/Raine instead of Robinson/Borthwick we win yesterday a lot easier.

Have a better chance in our remaining 4 games too, as I reckon none of them play a part now.

This thread getting a bit silly now if you ask me, all have made their points and not going to change their mind about the tournament.

All you have now is each side of the argument trying to wind the other side up with over the top and silly comments from both sides of the argument.

Cricket forum could and has been at times sensible grown up interesting debates about the actual cricket.

Especially the test match threads while here you have.

40 odd pages and very little posts at all about the actual cricket matches!!
I don't watch it, had me back to it in the pub last night as it started. You've only got a handful of posters posting about the actual cricket. I post on another forum about cricket and very few add to the Hundred thread there too.

Most of my posts are querying two 24 year old English talents sat playing no cricket in the summer.

Because no one cares. Genuinely. Before anyone gets upset I raised it a little earlier and that’s the only answer. Think about how busy the threads on any England or Durham game are with talk about the action - by comparison this thread is like a morgue. To the point where you couldn’t have individual match threads because they’d drop off the first page in less than 24 hours.

Proper cricket fans couldn’t give a shite and once the novelty wears off from the freebies and the daytrippers nobody will care about this either. Major League Cricket got three or four times the exposure globally as this is, the best thing that can happen for cricket in this country is for this competition to die quietly over the course of this winter and for the administrators to come up with a more serious 18 county short format white ball competition.

I don’t know if the same applies to those contracted to this tournament but England let the facade slip on “release” of central contract players a couple of times last summer with references to release decisions being “discussed with the player”. In other words in practice, say last September when it was a particular issue, the real explanation is Ollie Pope says “Surrey please” and is released, Joe Root says “golf please” and is “not released”.

I suspect the same for the Hundred too. These players aren’t 12 year olds being told what to do by teacher. They’re adult professionals making decisions about their careers.

Tickets were sold out on the website. You can check yourself, it’s public information.

Anyway, great game last night, shame for the Superchargers but they’re right up there and still in with a strong chance of a historic win. Banton looks to be finding form again.

Link?

Again, it changes nothing from my initial questions - why are there so many empty seats to an event that is ‘sold out’?
The Hundred website, clearly showed “SOLD OUT”. You’re now arguing against facts, which isn’t the road to go down when there’s so many valid arguments to make against The Hundred.

Funnily enough, I don’t have data on every person that bought a ticket and wasn’t in their seat when you flicked on/saw an image.

Tonight’s game “SOLD OUT” … the next Superchargers game “SOLD OUT”

Why do you think that is?
As I say we know peoples view by now

The T20 blast finals which I throughly enjoyed that thread had a massive total of 4 pages.

Was a great day for county cricket, the lack of interest on here suggests to me it’s not county cricket in general people on here are interested in or that thread would have had a hell of a lot my contributions.

It the fact they interested in just their own county cricket team who were not at finals day

Madsen played yesterday for Derbyshire and he's in The Hundred.
