Birmingham sacking Rowett for Zola and now look like their play off push is off.

Newcastle forcing Robson out as they weren't happy with 5th place then going on to be a bottom half premier league/championship yoyo club.

What other examples can you think of where a club has pulled the trigger only to shoot themselves clean in the face?

No but it does take a fool to look at a player who had been one of your best players that season and decide instead of buying him for £10m as a proven good player he would back the signing of a waste of space he had barely touched a ball for 2 years.

This old argument about sticking with failing managers is utter tosh.

Nobody asks how much worse it might have got if the club stuck with the sacked manager.

So you suggest that shoet was responsible for signing rodwell?
You know that is utter claptrap.
Just about every owner leaves the recruitment of players to managers.
We are no different and you know it.
Besides read the threads at the time we signed rodwell.
Most saw it as a sign of intent ..young english talent etc.
10m was price assuming all extras ( league placings, england caps, appearances ).
You have an agenda against short and would blame him for global warming man.

The two examples I gave were not failing managers. Quite the opposite and were replaced by failing managers

Or maybe he should have relised that this isn't the first time he is allowing the signing of a completely unknown talent player over someone who had already proven themselves here.
