At the (new) league meeting last night it was decided we will play timed cricket of 95 overs with a 1:30 start. Should be interesting to see who plays and who doesn't.

Has it been confirmed where this sits in the pyramid (NEPL2, NEDL) or have the clubs removed themselves from it?
Is it going to be 50 max first dig?
Think they said at the time it will sit under NEPL2. NEDL will be under the new league.
Meeting this month to decide what happens to junior cricket moving forward. Best guess is that they will regionalise it and it wont kick in until the year after next. Abolishing pairs cricket after U11's allegedly which is a step in the right direction although some U11 leagues dont play pairs cricket anyway.
Personally i think that they should introduce a pyramid system for junior cricket. Really cant see what the benefit is for teams to be hammered off the likes of Durham City week in and week out. It also does nothing for Durham City and co or the county.
Best junior sides in the area ie none Northumberland ones:
Durham City, CLS, Hetton Lyons, Blaydon, Ryton, Sacriston, Peterlee, Tudhoe, Washington, Esh Winning
I understand that Burnopfield are going to start an U11 and U13 side having not had ones since 2008. Also got planning permission in too sell their current ground for housing development and move to a new ground on the outskirts of the village.
From what i can tell it is the top eschelon of the respective clubs that make the decision in conjuntion with the DCB.Out of interest Colonel will the clubs have a say in what happens with junior cricket or will the board just decide what is going to happen ?

I basically keep tabs on all the junior teams that make the DCB end of season championships and theyre the clubs at U11, U13 and U15 level who provide the quarter finalists regularly. What was the science to putting that list together?
