I don't think they've ever played league cricket, not even in the Alnwick & District, and for obvious reasons I don't think they play many away games.

By playing on sundays they can draft in players from other teams when they are short.

Yeh it all makes sense if they are just going to run as a friendly side. More options for opponents who play league cricket on Saturdays and the player side of things as well.
 
Bamburgh is about 45 mins from Washington.

That would be a canny trip for anyone able to set up a friendly on a Sunday

Anyone think they could put a window out in the castle?

That’s about an average of 50mph. You can go much quicker than that.

I drive this route on a regular basis and it’s just my own personal experience.
