Stone bridge....and people from Ryhope took other people’s wives for a drink through Durham. Saw a few disappearing sharply when we wandered in pubs through there in the early 80s. Especially the one past the station up the bank somewhere.
Guide post keeps a good pint of Ale--3 decent ones on when I was last inDunno if they still have it but belonged to those who own D'Aqua, its very decent tbh though a lack of real ale is a small minus point.
Must have driven past this place loads times and always thought was just another run down pub that had seen better days but after reading it had been converted into a restaurant called in last night with the missus (pointless) for bite to eat and was spot on , food very nice , prices pretty low, really cosy inside with big log fire . Give it a try if your southside , well recommended
Great little out of the way pub. Castledene. The Colpitts? The Smiths Arms (Lumley?) was my little hidey hole back in the day
Amazing that place is still open . You have to drive to it anarl don't you ?Great little out of the way pub. Castledene.

Aye was famous for it, saw two lads one from Darlo the other Crook with ladies that were not their wife one night in the late eighty.Stone bridge.
Will they be able to drive you home when you're pissed ? I hope so .I could get rid of our lass .Will do well with the advent of self driving cars. Mark my words.
Don't see why not. Just think of all those country pubs which will now be accessible. Will they be able to drive you home when you're pissed ? I hope so .I could get rid of our lass .
Good lad , prob better when dark rather than daytime , more cosy with the fire n lightingPrime place and looks cosy as fuck from outside. I live about 5 minutes away by car and I've never been in. Will definitely go in for food some time.
Aye it’s a shame , with the quality of food should be rammedFood is spot on and decent value. Everytime I've been in the place has been absolutely dead like, so they must do a canny trade on parties/sunday dinners to keep things ticking over
Do it mate then stick a review on hereA lad from work recommended it to me. Not been yet but have it on my food to do list.
