I hate it when it sounds like I'm having a go at our lads, because I'm not. But they lost from a goal ahead to a team with O'Nien, Hume and Ellborg in it.

Brobbey was just back from injury and threw their strongest players about and gave their best defenders nightmares. O'Nien and Hume saw action in the FA cup game, so the mags had no excuses there and Ellborg was playing his 2nd or 3rd senior game for us and it was probably the biggest game he'll ever play in :lol:

Home for me, I'd kept my powder dry at work to that point while quietly being very very impressed with how we were playing. Went all in that Monday morning.

Had a chuckle last week when we went for a meal with our new Manc gaffer in "toon". He pointed out that the skunks supported the lowest ranked team sat around the table
 
Both very, very enjoyable and each had their own highlights.

Neither game was what you might call a ‘normal’ derby. There was Whatatomata’s own goal that gave us a hilarious win in the home game, and then the way the away game panned out from Lukey’s brain fart through to the human wardrobe’s winner in the last minute was the stuff of scriptwriter’s dreams.

In terms of providing ammunition to not just celebrate ‘at’ our somewhat stenchy neighbours, but also to rub in the way our victories happened, together with their feckless and wooly-headed approach to both games made it a very satisfying brace of derby wins.

Home match, as wasn't at the away.

Showed we were able to compete with them and couldn't be bullied. Was great watching their fans standing in silence the whole match, while the stadium was buzzing.

The camera angle where you can see their little faces.

First it's the expectation to clear it, then it's the "oh no" as Enzo megs two of them, then the "saved, phew!" before Big Bri hits the rebound, where upon you see their tiny minds implode into despair and fury.

The fact they had 9mins to try and get back in it but soundly failed was so sweet too.
 
Neither of them matter, apparently we are not their rivals, they have a bigger agenda. It’s only our cup final.
 
The game at the Visitor's a own place had to be the most satisfying

There was something about..

1) beating them on their home turf
2) beating them after gifting them a goal lead
3) their stunned silence when we equalised (always a good one)
4) their realisation when their second goal was disallowed that they would be lucky to hang on to a draw
5) executing the coup de grace in the 90th minute in order to maximise their despondency.
6) us adding to our PL tally of the most points gained so far this season by a team that had been in a losing position.
7) us helping to add to their PL tally of the most points lost so far this season by a team that had been in a winning position.

What was there not to have a bloody good laugh about
