That second half

We had a few breaks that we should have capitalised on when they were inevitably leaving themselves open when chasing the game. But they had us hemmed in for most of the second half. They were putting the pressure on. We looked leggy, sloppy, lacking composure.

Correct.

They were all over us from the whistle second half

We don’t like being ‘roughed up or in our faces’ . I thought maybe the luton game suggested we had turned a corner but Plymouth, preston, QPR, 2nd half today we have barely made a tackle. We’re excellent in possession but out of possession poor at times. Central midfield go missing
We gave too much praise for that Luton win. We were bloody awful and snuck a win, our passing was abysmal just like it was at qpr and Preston. Overall this season, bloody brilliant. Last few games we’ve been poor for 5 halves out of 6.

Straight out of the Grayson/Coleman/Dodds/Beale handbook. After the way we performed in the first half, to play like that was just baffling.
Going forward it’s a great learning experience match not finished at HT. We will come out stronger in 2nd H in future….just my thoughts

So what happened?
Did you just not turn up?
Do we have to question the half time chat, tactics ?
Or did Coventry improve.

Should have been out of sight imo.
Shit side and club are Coventry

Worst thing about that second half was everyone( except the coaches /players ) could see it “ developing “.-or if they did -couldn’t rectify it ?
We were sitting far too deep and hoping to protect the lead.
If we had shown a bit of ambition-moved the ball quicker -we could have won that.
if we were sitting due to fatigue ?-then change it early -it was coming.
After their first goal we simply continued the same approach which was baffling-when it should have been a massive wake up call to go back into the front foot .
Very frustrating as a win and those extra points going into the break were there for us
Overall brilliant start -but in the last 3 games lots of stuff to work on -we need to create more chances and not get a lead and invite pressure .

The goals were world class that we scored first half. Generally first half we played alright. Maybe I'm missing something when people say we played well first half. Our performance dropped off a cliff second half, so maybe that makes the first half appear better than it was. But at halftime I never felt we had control of the game.
We created more scorable chances second half than we did first . What’s this falling off a Cliff shite. They pressed higher and the game became more competitive , but we still had 3 golden chances to kill them off. Our finishing let us down it’s as simple as that.
I’ve calmed down a bit now. Some idiot booing like mad at the final whistle got the brunt of my frustration .

Left the ground absolutely gutted yesterday but having slept on it, I’m not as bad. What made it worse was we weren’t just winning 2-0, we were completely cruising. Our finishing has to be better second half and we win that comfortably.

Not going to get my knickers in a twist, Coventry got extremely lucky for the first goal and it got they tails up. The game turned on that then the 50:50 with the keeper

I don't think I'll see us beat those tramps again in my life time
This all day for me the ball after the tackle could of went anywhere but it fell at his feet and he put it away, second one only my opinion looks like it gets a slight deflection after the cross.

Samed is a huge miss. He looks like a physical, tenacious, player and a proper defensive midfielder. With his pedigree and the level he's played at, I think he should be very strong for the championship. Exactly what we need, which makes his injury all the more frustrating.
We need a player like ex-mag Sissoko at Watford . Hopefully Samed is same sort of player

Falling off the cliff because some of our players were running on treacle. We were struggling to keep possession, could barely string a few passes together. They dominated territory. First half we had much energy and were moving the ball better.

If it was boxing you would say they had us on the ropes for the last 6 rounds. They were the ones coming forward, the aggressor. We still managed to land a few good counter punches when they had to take risks, had they been delivered better they could have ended it.

Gutted we didn't win,but our first half display was tremendous, taking that as the positive, the international break will do this team a world of good, rest up come back firing.

Embarrassing craic, this.
Really?

EVERY time you look at Regis sitting down, there's the Mouth-Breathing Moron Dodds, chatting nonsense and gibberish into his ear.

When you see Regis standing alone in the technical area, looking forlorn and miserable, I honestly think that he's just stood there to get out of the way of the idiot that is Dodds....

Imagine having that moron forced on you, and there's nothing you can do to get rid? If that's the case? Which I suspect it is.

"Tremendous" 🤣🤣🤣

Two World class goals put the gloss on a very ordinary performance.
