Played no red ball games eh?

And the Buttler selection?
He's played no games.

And he's a bowler who didn't have a good rhythm when he last played over the winter, coming back from injury. Perhaps he'll play and it might be the right choice even but I reckon it would be taking a punt.

Woakes is probably the better bowler in England but I'd avoid playing him with Broad/Anderson with a view to finding a combination that doesn't just win in England.

Not sure Wood is the answer but I'd give him another go and then look to someone else if he doesn't do anything.

He’s not a bowler mate.

Woakes has a role in England when jimmy or broad are injured. That’s it for me

Amir and Abbas aside they looked pretty shit against Ireland

Hasan Ali didn't play. He is (or was) the Number 1 ODI bowler, and played excellent cricket in the Champions Trophy. Shadab can be a matchwinner with the ball, and hit a half century in Ireland. But yes, they did otherwise look rather shit.

I fancy Pakistan to bowl England out for virtually nothing once in the series, so should give them a decent chance of winning a test

They have had some decent preparation too, by modern day standards.

Looking forward to this, don't get as annoyed as some on here these days by the result, just hope its good cricket.

I'm joining the cricket fraternity. I don't know what any of you are talking about but I'm off to watch the mighty Durham soon to get in the mood. I know the rules and whatnot, I grew up watching test cricket from Mike Brierley standing there scratching his chin to the time of Willey and Dilley being on the card. They got Lillee out didn't they? like East Fife 5 Forfar 4 except that one didn't happen.

When's it on? What side? I can't find the telly plipper

Don't bother. The ECB say it's impossible for someone "outside cricket" to get into the it. Maybe try The Hundred but even then you need to be under 10.

What happens when Pakistan play during Ramadan? Do they get special permission to drink water? Could be a hard 5 days if not

I play with and against a few Muslim lads and it really depends how "hard core" they are. Yeah some lads do refuse teas or liquids during the game. Fair play.

No no I'm bothering. I've got the time, the telly, the Sky package and now the plipper. I don't understand your last sentence but it seems popular, I'm that one whose turned up and don't get things aren't I? Me telly is on over there, Sky have got the posh cameras going and I'm listening to Atherton droning on.

Oh shit, he's out. I know that's not good...
