Little over a week today till the start( or Grand Depart ;))

tips/thoughts ?

Quite like to see Titchy Ritchie win.
Backed Roglic at 50/1 e/w and think he's got a good ride in him.

Some interesting stages, especially the 60K dash on stage 17 ( with staggered starts etc)

Would love to see Ritchie win as well but can’t see it happening, froome for the win and a complete meltdown of the cycling world again as marginal gains and doping overshadow monumental achievements....so the same as every other year!

Think getting bottles of pee getting chucked at him will be nowt compared to what's coming to him this year.
Can seriously see him being lamped/knocked off his bike

Aye, you could be right, be interesting to see what the officials would do if that happened. Is there anything in the rules about it?

Don't think there is actually...remember the Ventoux incident a few years back and there was a school of thought that "it's just racing and these things happen". Agree to a certain extent and over the years there have been cases where riders have been punched with no allowances made by officials

Anyone doing the velogames league this year? Haway @Liverpool Beachball or whatever your calling yersel now, get thy finger out.

Think with Froome a lot will depend on Sky behave this year as to how he`s treated. Its not just the allegations but the way they arrogantly go about things with their special pillows etc that piss the fans off as much as owt

Hard to see past Froome if he's recovered well enough from the Giro. Sky's team will be ridiculously strong. If he's not on top form, it's tough to call who's most likely to beat him.

Predictions - Porte has one bad day in the mountains losing 5+ mins (solely because he crashed last year and it's usually one or the other, puncture maybe?)
- Movistar fuck it up by trying to keep all three of their 'leaders' in it too long into the race.

There was a famous incident in 1975 when a French bloke punched Eddy Merckx on a climb. Merckx blamed the effects of this on his getting beaten over the next couple of days but others reckon it was just cos he was getting old & past it. The guy was identified and Merckx insisted they pressed charges. Subsequently a French court found him guilty and ordered him to pay Merckx compensation of 1 Franc.

Primoz Roglic will win this bike race (hopefully anyway as I have a fiver each way at 100/1)

Will set one up tomorrow!

I see Stage 9 includes a fair bit of cobbled roads. Do they do anything different with the bikes to deal with this?

The pro teams use different bikes for the classics than normal road races

10 ways the pros modify their bikes for the cobbles

good man

Nibz and Bardet good prices as well.....would want about 500/1 for Martin mind
Nibali didnt look too cracking in the Dauphine mind, whether he was just goldbricking and having a training run or actually finished though you couldnt tell

Often does that in warm up races...he’s a cute rider who knows his way around.
Can’t see him winning unless others hit problems but a good price LB has.

Not looked at his team, but like others the TTT could, along with a few others be pivotal stages
