Talbi

Diarra does a lot of excellent running that just cannot be replicated by anyone else, especially Enzo.

Diarra will start CM when fit and available.
This for me, been much better recently too. Needs to sharpen up his final decision, pass, shot but hopefully that will come with more experience. Le Fee on the left then Angulo / Traore / Rigg / Ta Bi on the right depending on form / fitness

Talbi occasional start / off the bench too but for the left hand side, looks like a different player when he plays on the right!

Run in to the end of the season, get him in and just tell him to run at his full back. Miss wingers trying to beat their men when usually one on one or at least make a yard for a cross. The role itself is one of the simplistic things in the game yet its been overly complicated

He should be playing on the left. Feel for him tbh. Can deffo see potential with him. Harshly dropped after the mags game

Goal threat, but he is very hit and miss as many wingers are.

He cannot play right side though, so it's a bit weird when he gets left out after contributing and then brought on often right side.

Out of all the out and out wingers this season Talbi has been the best imo, may not be a high bar but he clears it.

Adingra and Mundle have been shocking and Angulo has hardly set the world on fire before his injury.

Argument to be made for Traore too but he has missed most the season. I would extend his deal tbh unless we have someone else in mind.

Never quite understood the perception of him by Le Bris.

For me he was bizarrely dropped after scoring the cracker at home against Burnley.

He then scored a crucial goal against the Mags and was a fingertip away from one of the goals of the season and was dropped again.

If Diarra plays a simple 6 yard pass he wins that for us today with his supporting run and positioning.

Diarra probably needs a break and Le Fee demonstrated with just one ball today what he can do central. Tough to drop Rigg after the goal ( Although he wasn’t great defensively )

Surely Le Fee central and Talbi back in is a no brainer for Forest.
^^^^^^

He was awful when he came on yesterday. Had one decent crossing opportunity and stuck ball behind the goal on his good right foot under no pressure. An absolute massive ball ache of mine. I never did it in 20 odd years of playing at a pretty low standard. Haway you're aiming for about the penalty spot, behind the goal is about 15 yards out when you're only crossing it from about 30 yards away. It's horrendous.

He has a goal in him but he's massively inconsistent even by winger standard.

Taibi is one of a few who has the legs and speed to allow us to break on teams. He was right up with play and there for a tap in if only Diarra had decided to take that option. Our wide players don’t score many so from that perspective he’s done really well with 4 goals.

Good for getting out from corners when pinned in our own box. He can burst up the pitch lightning fast. Think he demonstrated it a couple of times against the mags, took a lot of pressure off.

But as others have rightly said, he is inconsistent. But still very young. First season in the premier League with a brand new first team.

I think so far he looks a solid buy all things considered. Can see why le fee is preferred even though I would rather see him centrally
.

Keep hearing people doubt Le Bris, hes not impervious to mistakes and those mistakes can obviously be scrutinised, but how many times has a Sunderland fan stated something recently (myself included) that ends up being utterly daft in hindsight because his decision has worked?

Not sure if Ive read this right or misunderstood what your your saying, but in 20 years you've never mis hit a pass/cross? Regardless of level I'm finding that pretty hard to believe!
Think he's done ok overall all things considered. Definitely room for improvement mind not denying that, but think people get carried away with expectations of some of the new signings. Le Bris has already come out and said we can't afford to buy a ready made winger to go straight in and expect hos to perform consistently at a high level. As frustrating as it is think we need to be a bit more forgiving

Everyone clamouring for Europe need to get used to this being a squad game, and young lads on the wings are gonna rotate as we find horses for courses and get minutes in legs.
My understanding, from years in here, is that we have to have a first team of 11 players who all play their one natural position. Each of them is backed up by another player who is almost as good and plays that same position. Any variations on that scheme causes minds to melt.

I played centre midfield mostly so I didn't cross every game but I don't recall ever sticking the ball behind the goal from a cross even with my poor left foot. It's not exactly a hard skill.

Imagine a player is standing 30 yards away. In my pomp I would like to think I could I could pass the ball within a couple of yards of him 9 times out of 10. A player crossing the ball from the touch line is about 30 yards from the middle of the goal. Most crosses will be aiming to put the ball between the penalty spot and the 6 yard box. To stick the ball behind the goal you're at least 7 yards out. It's poor. I was playing for the school and on a Sunday morning. These are top professional players who practice 5 days a week. It's poor.

Yep I really don’t get that. He really struggles on the right. He’s turning 21 next month and I think he’s been alright for his first season in the prem. I can deffo see potential with him.

Looking at it as an isolated incident then fair enough it was poor, but he's also won us points, smashed one in top corner (unlucky not to do it again against the mags as well) so for me, yeah he's been frustrating at times because we've seen flashes of what he can do, but if you take into account he's been in and out of the team my opinion is he's done quite well considering. At least he's contributed.

Iam with you Keith… but do you not think it’s to with the spin, dip, velocity or what ever they are trying to do with the modern ball.

Where as I was just dropping it into a space on a pin head 😂… without a second thought for how hard I struck it of if it had some dip.

Mind I was a shit Sunday League player

He’s unbelievably quick if only he would use his pace more

It’s totally different when your moving at the pace he was

He’s our only winger who’s looked like scoring regularly and his pace and ability to get us up the pitch on the break especially is a real asset. So young and can only get better, Traore seems to get better in the fans eyes the more he doesn’t play, I think we need an upgrade not to continue with someone so injury prone.
