We are led to believe this is a long term thing, no?

Raising the clubs value for profit means you have to get in the premiership and sell without losing 150 million, all for a pittance if you can find someone to sell to.
i notice a few clubs (palace is the latest one) are using factoring to raise cash..that is selling today to a bank the right to collect transfer fees owed to the clubfr deals already done..this costs the club money..but three ir four prem clubs are doing this..palaxe did it this week...it shiws that at operating level cash flow is a real problem now..even in the top flight.

palace american owners are trying to sell..no takers..
i wonder if the bubble is slowly bursting..

There are means and ways, paying people like Benteke and Long 100k a week isnt it in my opinion.

The desperation to stay in there at all means necessary is what has seen us sink to what we are now.

Sort your strategy out now in my opinion, don't just buy yourself there and hope to stay.

I heard from a few now they will make this a success and they want their kids to run it - no greater motivator for the senior investors then,.

tbf i think palace are raising money to build a new stand and a better trainig ground rather than just spunk more cash on mediocre footballers...but your general point is correct..the best run clubs in england are the ones that oevr achieve relative to their size, history, and fanvbase, and they dont do it by splashing huge cash alone.

It's still bizarre that rather than enjoying the fact that we're about to welcome 3 or 4 billionaires to Sunderland and what is hopefully a very bright future, everyone on this website just seems to want to bicker about whether its a takeover or "investment".

I get that some people believe what they want to believe and no stranger on the internet is going to change their mind. So lets stop acting like spoilt little kids and just enjoy it for once. The announcement is almost upon us :D

so its on?
can be bothered to read this thread, as they tend to be absolute time sinks
mods: can we just have a sticky thread with a takeover status indicator?
