As you say nothing he’s said hadn’t already been reported yet people on here have been handing on his every word which when dig a bit deeper hasn’t really been up to much.

Of course by saying it’s done etc it’s telling people what they want to hear so anyone questioning it will be quickly shouted down as has been shown on this thread.

The fact is as fans we are all desperate for this to happen as it could herald an exciting new era but personally speaking the ramblings of some random bloke on a forum isn’t something I’m going to place a great deal of stock in.

I don't think he's the type tbh, he wouldn't risk building people's hopes up by saying it's done if he didn't firmly believe it to be the case. Also heard that it's done from a couple of other people who should know. Mind, the only thing I'd say about Reiver's info is that he does seem to be basing it on the text saying well done for purchasing the club; I'm sure he's seen a text but I suppose it might have been sent when a deal was originally agreed and might have just been assuming no late hitches/ issues with approval in much the same way that I might congratulate a mate on getting a house once a price is agreed and the home report looks good but before competition has occurred. Still think it'll be fine though, hell every media outlet is also keen to report that there's no issues

They’ve derailed the thread arguing him several times. Jardine is a lot of things but he’s never shied away from taking a pop.

Ndong was another example. Nobody knew anything of him but reiver lived in France so saw a lot of him (because you’d obviously watch a lot of lorient) and assured us he was the goods. Cue optimism and people now excited over the new record signing.

Turned out reiver had moved back to England the season ndong was in France.

He probably says things for right reasons in terms of trying to make people feel better about things but I wouldn’t take a great deal of notice of him personally.

Like I say I don’t think he does it for attention but does like to try and put a positive/optimistic slant on every situation regarding Sunderland which I think he’s tried to do here.

I read his posts, difficult not to when he’s on here 24/7 and I’d say we are absolute polar opposites in our outlook on things which will naturally lead to disagreements.

I’m very much a realist whereas rivs is the eternal optimist bordering on delusion imo.

There’s a difference between reading someone’s posts and taking them as gospel but of course you know this already.

you have never had a good word to say about the club, when we win you dissapear and i cant believe for one moment that you and certain others on here will be happy when/if the takeover goes through, still it's your life...
 
Problem is when someone posts saying they "know" then it's inevitable folk will ask for source. You can't provide the source if it's the truth you speak.

That leads to some trusting what you say and some not. Reiver probably knew he was saying too much but I don't doubt what he was saying.

As class as he is, this is a funny as hell way to get banned; by way of a thread going wrong on HIV no less, + a blackmail accusation that's reported and then backfire and you're suffering a spell on the sidlines

Thank you for the summation...some strange goings on when the op reports a post then gets banned for over a month but the op's original post remains?????? Skull duggery or just incompetence.
