Takeover Rumours

£100m spend doesn't necessarily get you out of the championship now. There are players going for £10m plus regularly. Villa spent a fortune in the championship and have done it again this year to try and be settled in the premier league.
did they though? what did their squad cost? apparently in the 2018 season it was about 70m, and they didnt spend much the following season when they got promoted. the total of all purchases they made in the 5 years previous to getting back up is about 170m (transfermarkt), and they'll have sold a decent amount to balance that out. 70-80m sounds about right.

No. Just only passing on what it's safe to pass on. For example, I knew the identity of the firm doing the due diligence long before it was revealed on here. All I've done with that is confirm it once someone else revealed it.

I think it was @Parkmaverick who posted that and other details I'd only hinted at.

I really do hope we get a clear idea of what the new owners plans are when the takeover is confirmed. I assume they can’t go too overboard saying we will be the next City but it would be bloody brilliant if they did!
Dear God in heaven. Be patient, be subtle, be humble. Take pride in not being a needy mag. We are better than them because of who, and how, we are.

To be honest mate it’s an argument that can go on forever and has no definitive answer. We’re bigger than most but not as big as others is the way I like to look at it. With regards to this takeover, though, I stand by what I say; it isn’t going to be the big national news people think it is.

P. S A helicopter has just flown north over Sunderland.

I live in the North West surrounded mainly by Liverpool, Everton and Man U fans. And a smattering of Leeds, Man City,
Banter aside most consider us a big club, albeit underachievers,
We were the biggest club in the country once upon a time.
Hopefully we get another crack at it.
