Will we not be informed the night before its going to be announced that the club have arranged a press conference to announce it or will we announce it then do a press conference a few hours later?
Announced on the website / social media that the ownership is to change then a formal press conference to follow.

You make some good points Nelson but in the new world post takeover I think the “what’s acceptable” bar will be raised to unprecedented levels for SAFC.

I have a feeling the fact Ross’s first season ended, even his own words, in failure won’t sit well with a group of men used to success.
I'm sure as well as success they probably suffered setbacks as well , how you react to setbacks is the measure of the man . Ross set out his stall to win promotion and the EFL Trophy he failed and said so , in fairness to him it was all about fine margins , this season he will be expected to achieve. However I think he has to start getting results quickly or he will not be given the opportunity to atone for last seasons failure , in fairness I would love to see him succeed !!

People are absolutely fooking barmy on here. Sean Dyche dropping down two leagues to manage us man, give your heads a wobble. We would possibly stand a chance if we were still in the Prem but people need to get real.

FWIW - I’m not a massive Ross fan but nor do i think another (realistic) manager would be able to come in and simply turn us into a side thats going to piss promotion.
Who would be realistic then and do we give this manager a 2 year contract? If he's good enough for L1 now then would he be good for PL if he's no PL experience? If the 'new' owners are serious about the future and long term growth of the club then why look at a manager for the short term? In around 20 months we could be back in the PL much bigger and stronger financially than a lot of clubs. However we may then have a manager that limits us as he can't handle bigger name players with bigger egos and wages. What then, sack him and look for someone in a panic like we did how many times last time?

Do the owners just let Ross crack on until the end of the season and waste another year in this league when there's only 1 place they want to be? Is it really that daft to think that the 'new' owners are possibly looking down this route of starting with a manager who has PL experience and may well be up for a change and who can also jump aboard the long term thing and look past the fact we're in L1? I'd dare say they'll have the money to tempt them along with any compensation required so it may be deluded in some way but I wouldn't be shocked if it happened given football has had plenty shocks over the years.

If they announce mass spending on all aspects of the club we will all rejoice.
I must have missed this? What did Dobson say?

I was at Peterborough and we could have done with him in the side because Power and Leadbitter were shocking.
he said nowt.

Except say they need to pull their fingers out.....as all them are saying.

Alright. I think he came into a club in absolute shambles, in a league he's never managed in, as a young manager still learning his trade. He had to deal with the enormous wage discrepancies, and build a squad in a matter of weeks. The few PL leftovers aside it's a league one squad and I don't think last season was the free hit everyone else seemed to.

From April he failed, should have got top two and then should have won the play offs. I'm happy enough to give him a chance to improve on that, become more bold in his approach and push us on with some stability.

He's gotten the best out of McGeady. He got Cattermole playing well from a point of fans at preseason telling him to fuck off. One thing you can't say is the players aren't trying for him. When we go out and play our own game we look good and I like the neat passing style, plus his ability to mix it up when needed. He understands the game well and I think he is a lot more intelligent than the likes of Kenny Jacket or some of the other managers at this level I sometimes see posters saying we should go and get.

He has failings. Of course. I've always admitted as much. He should be more confident and play more attacking football, he should have sorted the defence out (I think Willis has helped). He needs to be more ruthless when it comes to the crunch and win the big games. More than that I think he needs to demonstrate he has a vision for the future in terms of adding young players who can develop with us as we progress....O'nien, Dobson, Willis, etc fit the bill.

I think he gets a rough time because some of our supporters can't handle how far we've fallen and think turning it around should be a foregone conclusion. I don't think it's as simple as that. If the takeover goes through as we all expect I'd be telling him "you've got until end of November to have us comfortably top and playing well".

I'm not saying he's definitely the answer but I think he's being written off too soon.
Great Post mate.

Agree with it 100%, but when these guys come in he will be under massive pressure between now and the end of November.

He said we could have, and should have done better....something along those lines, nowt controversial. Ross is saying that Dobson is struggling with the tough training schedule at the club. Is Ross blind ? The lads as fit as anyone in the team, that's obvious to anyone who's seen him play

What do you base this on, the 2 biggest egos in the Sunderland dressing room since Jack took over would have to have been Catts and McGeady, Catts couldn’t say enough good things about Jack and McGeady loves playing for him!

Where did Ross say that about Dobson ?
