Takeover Rumours

Watching us play under Ross is like watching them with the handbrake on. They might be playing as well as they can but to have the second least shots in the league behind a bunch of kids in Bolton is criminal with the squad at his disposal.
I do think he will be given until January but he has to send them out to attack every team from minute one. Since October last year it’s been pretty dire.

bit of pressure... he contributes to his own pressure.. weve got a very promising midfield player who could dictate the game but hes dropped him because he spoke his mind.. bloke is an absolute amateur..
Dobson should not have been dropped for speaking the truth, he's shown that he can easily play in our midfield.

Just seems like abject fear from the manager every game tbh

If we could condense this thread into meaningful posts it would be ten pages long.
Its a fan opinion site fella ,what do you expect ?!apply that analysis to the whole board over the last ten years and you wouldnt be enough meaningfull posts as you describe to create a small two page A5 pamphlet on how to make meaningfull posts on a football fan website!

Alright. I think he came into a club in absolute shambles, in a league he's never managed in, as a young manager still learning his trade. He had to deal with the enormous wage discrepancies, and build a squad in a matter of weeks. The few PL leftovers aside it's a league one squad and I don't think last season was the free hit everyone else seemed to.

From April he failed, should have got top two and then should have won the play offs. I'm happy enough to give him a chance to improve on that, become more bold in his approach and push us on with some stability.

He's gotten the best out of McGeady. He got Cattermole playing well from a point of fans at preseason telling him to fuck off. One thing you can't say is the players aren't trying for him. When we go out and play our own game we look good and I like the neat passing style, plus his ability to mix it up when needed. He understands the game well and I think he is a lot more intelligent than the likes of Kenny Jacket or some of the other managers at this level I sometimes see posters saying we should go and get.

He has failings. Of course. I've always admitted as much. He should be more confident and play more attacking football, he should have sorted the defence out (I think Willis has helped). He needs to be more ruthless when it comes to the crunch and win the big games. More than that I think he needs to demonstrate he has a vision for the future in terms of adding young players who can develop with us as we progress....O'nien, Dobson, Willis, etc fit the bill.

I think he gets a rough time because some of our supporters can't handle how far we've fallen and think turning it around should be a foregone conclusion. I don't think it's as simple as that. If the takeover goes through as we all expect I'd be telling him "you've got until end of November to have us comfortably top and playing well".

I'm not saying he's definitely the answer but I think he's being written off too soon.
Great reply, wasted on here!

It does to me as well but that fear will get him the sack in a matter of weeks, takeover or no takeover. If I was in danger of losing my job I’d go firmly on the attack than what he has been doing. I actually like him and don’t like change for the sake of it but the start of the season has been just more of the same of last season. I was convinced he would have learned the lesson and decided to go for it.
The recruitment hasn’t helped him though to be fair and the Campbell takeover and then this during the off season has meant nowhere near what needed spending has been spent.

Aye, I like the fella too, but he's got to stop and go back to what he can actually do. I'm bored stiff of our managers always saying we need to cut out the goals rather than just do what works, score MORE than the opposition.

People are absolutely fooking barmy on here. Sean Dyche dropping down two leagues to manage us man, give your heads a wobble. We would possibly stand a chance if we were still in the Prem but people need to get real.

FWIW - I’m not a massive Ross fan but nor do i think another (realistic) manager would be able to come in and simply turn us into a side thats going to piss promotion.

My worry is actually the opposite. Conceding shite goals takes the wind out of us.

Will we not be informed the night before its going to be announced that the club have arranged a press conference to announce it or will we announce it then do a press conference a few hours later?

I wonder who will be at the the press conference when it’s announced. Would guess the three new owners and CM and SD? Be interesting to see if the new owners do most of the talking or if Donald will. I also wonder if they will do any sort of podcast straight away.

Agree with most of that.
