I can understand where you are coming from (look at my recent posts on Ross). However, rightly or wrongly he may be given some time by the investors. If he is he can redeem himself by playing attacking, entertaining and winning football like we did have at the begining of last season.

However, if he doesnt he can have no complaints if the new investors want to see significant improvements.

He needs to be more ruthless when it comes to the crunch and win the big games. More than that I think he needs to demonstrate he has a vision for the future in terms of adding young players who can develop with us as we progress....O'nien, Dobson, Willis, etc fit the bill.

I think he gets a rough time because some of our supporters can't handle how far we've fallen and think turning it around should be a foregone conclusion. I don't think it's as simple as that. If the takeover goes through as we all expect I'd be telling him "you've got until end of November to have us comfortably top and playing well".

I'm not saying he's definitely the answer but I think he's being written off too soon.

I mostly agree with that but at the same time I think new owners, new manager ( as long as he’s a better one) , new lift wouldn’t do us any harm and might get us up to the top

I have been a SAFC supporter for 50 years. I can take getting beat...its how we get beat that is the major worry for me. At Wmbley we raised the white flag twice.

Apologies lads n lases I dont want to make this a Ross thread as there are bigger fish to fry so to speak on this thread.

I want to hear more from Reiver!!!!!! :)

I get what your saying but feel time is against him we need to get out of this division and feel he has had enough Support and funds. He has had 12 month to find his feet and still doesn’t look like he knows his best team

Is it silly though? What more can Howe do at Bournemouth or Dyche at Burnley and would Wilder even be tempted from his home town club? They've been there years but what resources and potential growth do their clubs have? They're just also rans and one bad season and they could go down. Bournemouth have probably plateaued as they can't generate additional revenue like some clubs because at £120m-£130m, they're £50m behind the likes of West Ham, Everton, mags etc every season which is a big percentage.

Didn't we even get linked with Dyche a few years back but Advocaat decided to stay?

Now we're waiting for confirmation that we've got some rich investors coming in and the rumours are they want to do more than just the usual finance a few players. Why wouldn't a PL manager not be tempted depending what was laid out in front of them, even more so if the wages are bigger than what they're on now and the club is being restructured etc.

Why not start at the top with the manager, get that right and then look at players in time? We may even tempt some players here that will gamble on getting promoted 2 seasons in a row as they ckuld have promotion clauses/bonuses etc. I don't know what will happen but everyone has their price and if we stay within FFP we may well be in for a few surprises ;) Players get tempted away with money so why not managers, even more so when there's a potential exciting future plan for the club? If we get back into the PL then we'll probably hit £200m revenue by then and if the club has been ran as well as you'd hope then we'll be in an even better position to do something. Howe, Dyche, Wilder could possibly come when we're iin the PL so why not now if they have a bit vision and ambition and get even more respect for what they did?

I've probably fucked up bits of what I've posted that trolls will pick apart. I'm knacked now so I can't explain exactly what I mean as after that PM bollocks it has rattled my brain. Maybe some will get my point as to why it's not so silly after all to get a good manager in now.

If it is, and if the new owners really have been trying to get Dyche then it flies in the face of the people suggesting they won't really be spending. At this level he'd never come here, but to even think about approaching him they'd have to have a hell of a lot of ambition and presumably have been prepared to spend a lot on him

Your posts used to be of absolute clarity and very similar to my way of thinking. Your judgement has, for whatever reason, become clouded. Evidenced by your attempt to justify support of a failing / failed manager.
