Takeover Rumours

Obviously getting ahead of ourselves a bit but I think a lot of big name managers would want it if the money was there, not just for the cash but also to be part of an actual project. Lots of managers mention projects, but a real chance to take SAFC from league one to, potentially, having a competitive premier league side (depending on how much they are going to be able to put in), that has to be an appealing challenge. Certainly if they do make a change they'll want it to be a statement. I think Ross will stay for more mind, but the pressure really will be on him, these owners will definitely demand promotion
Could be the making of him.

I suggested earlier that there may be tension between the current and new owners.

That was a guess as I hope I made clear based on things I'd picked up but hadn't been directly told.

I've been informed that there is no such issue so happily admit my guess, in this case, was entirely incorrect.
Still playing catch up on this thread. Who was the most famous person you looked after? Who was the nicest and who was the biggest arse?

Oh and unashamed bump waiting for the good news to be officially announced

That's what I'm expecting. Ross to be given the next few months. If we're approaching January window and not top of the league he may be relieved of his duties and another manager given a chance.

When people talk about big name managers coming to us in league one all I can think of is Sven at Notts County. Arguably a top manager dropping down the leagues has more to lose than to gain in terms of reputation. If they get us back up to the PL then that's just meeting expectation, if league one is too different from their prior experiences and they can't manage it they look like an idiot.

I know but you continued to post it again without the clarification

You've set penno off now man
I’ve been on the wenger train as soon as there was a sniff earlier in the thread. Again, absolutely no reason to promote this nonsense, just getting carried away

Aye, I don't think they'll give him a transfer window if we aren't top two. Let's just hope we are and that he can progress with the club!

I cant read any more, im going to either burst with excitement or whitey with nerves. Ill be of course back on in an hour or so coz this shit is like crack to a crack whore.

It could be. Like I say I don't mind if he stays, I know these new owners won't fuck about so if he stays he knows he has to deliver and if he doesn't I know we'll get rid. Obviously if there's some mint manager in the wings that's different, but I don't think it'll be the case!
I like Ross & care not whee nars! I suspect the "retired English manager" adviser may have given his opinion, as will Donald. Those two opinions may or may not be congruent. We shall see. But I suspect, like you, that Yankee billionaires might be ever so slightly ruthless when it comes to getting/not getting their desired results.

I think riv had some inside info directly relating to them, maybe hinting at them missing out on a takeover from the same consortium or ‘one of their own’ being involved in something relating to what’s happening

At the end of the day- when they were at the SOL that was Charlie being the realtor showing prospective buyers the garden- it was a perfect day and they were sold- now it’s the paperwork
