Takeover Rumours

No. But he won't be an active investor. That simply means he won't be on the board engaged actively in the running of the club. It does not exclude him being involved in the funding of the club. Indeed, as he will be a shareholder, if investment is to be made by increasing share capital, he will need to do so if his shareholding is not to be diluted. For what it's worth, Roman Abramovic is not on the board at Chelsea, and Mike Ashley is not on the board at the Mags. People are confusing ownership and management.
Well explained GOM.

So @Grumpy Old Man the big question I suppose is whether this takeover a hobby punt from Mr Dell's hanger-oners or the real deal? Are people getting carried away?

Might take us seriously as rivals? Who the fuck do you think yous are like? You, like us have done fuck all really for decades. We've finished in the top 3 more than Newcastle have. We've won more leagues than Newcastle have. We even have a bigger record crowd than Newcastle have. You have a great city centre and Sunderland has been neglected over the years, but how is that relevant in a comparison between Sunderland AFC and Newcastle United? Go a mile west of Newcastle city centre and you may as well be in downtown Damascus. It's absolutley f***ing rotten and blows anywhere in Sunderland out of the water in the 'biggest shithole' stakes.

You're clutching at any straw you can grab. You're absolutley terrified about this takeover. It's threatening your pathetic, obsessive and insecure existence. You're one of these mags who's been brainwashed to believe you're above anyone or anything from or related to Sunderland...yet you speak about us having a chip on your shoulder? Looking at your posts on that mess of a forum I'd suggest that you need to see a doctor you f***ing cretin.

Now, trot back off to your own board to spew your bile you pathetic bastard.
Possibly one of the best posts I've ever seen on here.

Another reason why Dell wanted us..

We're finger licking good!

Was terrible I know

Maybe the Dell lads checked out the John Cooper Clarke poem on youtube, read a comment on the video from a mag saying it referred to Sunderland and after a quick search for Sunderland they decided to buy the club. Nice one.

I posted that mate. It was told as if it was going to be a plan down the line but they saw the ground as potential for all year round events.

Concerts, other sports and such like. If you put a roof on you could do all sorts when you think about it. NFL, Boxing, baseball, concerts and as daft as people would say it is a WWE event would be a massive attraction really.
Wouldn’t you have to extend it first so that it would be level all the way around?

If it's happening, it'll leak tomorrow.

From my experience working with PL and SPL clubs, they'll text the journalists they want there at about 9pm tomorrow saying there's a press conference at some point. It used to be 830 at Sunderland I think - but that seems a bit early for a non-football announcement.
Your earlies are a bit on the late side.
