No. But he won't be an active investor. That simply means he won't be on the board engaged actively in the running of the club. It does not exclude him being involved in the funding of the club. Indeed, as he will be a shareholder, if investment is to be made by increasing share capital, he will need to do so if his shareholding is not to be diluted. For what it's worth, Roman Abramovic is not on the board at Chelsea, and Mike Ashley is not on the board at the Mags. People are confusing ownership and management.

I have read on here loads of times that it would take hundreds of millions just to get to 7th. From league 1 to 7th in the PL would require a fortune.

Might take us seriously as rivals? Who the fuck do you think yous are like? You, like us have done fuck all really for decades. We've finished in the top 3 more than Newcastle have. We've won more leagues than Newcastle have. We even have a bigger record crowd than Newcastle have. You have a great city centre and Sunderland has been neglected over the years, but how is that relevant in a comparison between Sunderland AFC and Newcastle United? Go a mile west of Newcastle city centre and you may as well be in downtown Damascus. It's absolutley f***ing rotten and blows anywhere in Sunderland out of the water in the 'biggest shithole' stakes.
