Takeover Rumours

The Mag media were writing reams and wetting themselves about Staveley and the fake Sheikh, endless coverage but now virtually nothing regarding Sunderland.

The Mag media have: a) an all too obvious dislike of SAFC. b) do not want this takeover to become reality and c) are pathetically biased towards NUFC and do not cover the NE football scene fairly.

We all know they're capable of saying things like Adam Johnson’s aeroplane gesture was a reference to the NUFC fans killed in the plane crash ... followed by a half arsed apology and charity donation.

These so called unbiased ‘professional’ journos will be sweating and grimacing when their editors tell them they must cover the SAFC takeover in detail!

The bitterness will ooze out of them like rancid juice on week old road kill

I'm so excited by the potential of this I hope this is our redefining moment ... the rebalancing of what north east football is away from brand geordie... it may have started already with some cracking images of onien and Dobson on bbc sport this morning

You are correct re media bias. Been the case for last 25 years and social media has simply highlighted it.

Uh?

Am I missing something here - everything except the finer details has been plastered all over the National (and International) media for a week now.
We are League One and nothing really has happened yet. Bury and Bolton have taking up much of the news and the Premier League and Champions League always take up the bulk of the football news. People seem to think the media hates us.

People are right to think they hate us imo.

I've no intention of getting into a prolonged tit for tat argument but you saying people are wrong and posting a smilie doesn't convince me tbh.

There is basically nothing to report - the consortium were named a week ago in the press, there were photos of some of them visiting the SoL, and I am guessing between then and now the completion of due dilligence and the Football League checks will be taking place.

The next news will either be that the takeover is completed, or that is has failed and then I am sure the press will be all over it again. They aren't going to report daily that nothing is happening, and the people at the club will no doubt have signed an NDA so won't be able to discuss anything.

I suspect we are now at the Football League approval point, and they have been rather busy with other matters this week!

I’m almost certain there will be a media embargo on this.
