Takeover Rumours

I went to a Phila Union friendly some years ago vs Aston Villa. There was about 10,000 people out in the parking lot tailgating and you could see the English Villa fans saying to themselves “wtf is this?”

I don’t know if England fans would go for it... you all seem very into your own thing and against any kind of Americanisms...I still can’t believe you don’t tailgate?!?! We tailgate for everything...concerts, baseball, highschool games, whatever!

I would think if the Stadium of Light had a facility like XFINITY LIVE next to it, where all the match goers would go before the game for food and drinks, I don’t see how that wouldn’t be a money maker! Just google Xfinity live images to get a peek at what I mean.
What's tailgating? Sound like something a deviant would be into

I'd be amazed if we could attract those sort of numbers in the next 15/20 years.
Perhaps you need to be prepared to be amazed.

Nobody has truely tested the potential of this club in 70 years.

If we can fill a 48,000 stadium with the slightest sniff of success what can we achieve with planned sustained investment...I have no idea but I would like to find out.

That's something I admire about the Americans - they know how to run a sporting event. Whether it be tailgating, sports bars around the stadium, giving away free stuff etc. It's all about the customer experience. I've been to XFINITY LIVE when I went to watch the Phillies play. We went before the game and I'll never forget the massive plate of nachos 🤤. Also popped in after the game for a drink and the place was buzzing. It's well set up in Philly with your sports stadiums all being down in that one area.
