Takeover Rumours

Joking apart do many of us want to become a Man City? I look forward to having a stable and successful club with a team that plays good entertaining football that's known to be able to give any Club from here or abroad a run for its money.

What a joy it will be to look at a fixture list and never again have to write off a quarter of the games before a ball has been kicked. I want Man City and the rest of them to say..... "Oh bugger we've go Sunderland at the SoL next week".

I don't want a Club whose only ability is to spend daft amounts of money and buying players that no one else could ever hope to afford - were's the fun in that?
Perfect your grace. Couldn’t have put it better. It used to said that teams feared coming to Sunderland. I hope to live long enough to see this happen again.

And plenty were taking the piss out of them for getting carried away which is exactly what a lot of us are doing.

FWIW I think this is brilliant and if can’t have some optimism over something like this then no point following a club so I understood the mags being excited as well.

Mags = getting carried away
Sunderland = enjoying some optimism

Always comes back to defending the Mags with you, no matter what the circumstances ...
... weird tbh.

From Mark Campbell to Michael Dell, impressive.
Hopefully in for the long term and build from the bottom up.

whats this reference to the spectaculr failure? Im not questioning if your right..Im certain you are..its just not something I know about?

I'm talking about a former employee who would have been involved with this side of the business before your time. The chronicle have run some stories in the last couple of weeks. I'm presuming, maybe wrongly, that the "catering" contracts have been in place for a couple of years.

If I'm wrong about the current contracts I apologise, but that would mean the current offer needs looking at now rather than when inherited contracts expire. Just some feedback for you really that might help increase revenue.

The Ronny Gill trying to burst the bubble already.........................effectively saying it's not the 25/31 richest person on the planet just three of his billionaire friends so take that!!!

I thought that. Trying to find any way to put a negative spin on the story.

Conveniently missing out this part from the website quote:

Michael Dell and his family are substantial clients of MSD Partners.

I think what we're being told has a bit more credibility than the latest takeover rumour from Mike Ashley and his mob - don't you agree? And SD wants to sell and has our interests at heart (and his own obviously) - Ashley just hates the mags.
I’ll believe it when I see it but for time being it’s nice to dream a little.

Will be one in the eye for those who claim nobody with any clout would want to step foot into north east though.

I swear people still think we all wear flat caps and use outside nettys up here!

they wont be investing for fun...they will be taking money out at some point, probably just means us being saddled with debts again as they take loans and pocket the cash

I think their plan will be to buy low and sell high. We are a club with Premier League infrastructure available for relative pennies.

A little bit of long term investment used wisely to get us to the land of milk and honey, where clubs these days often turn a profit.

Amazing news, if it comes off and the consortium want to do a Man City making us a top 4 team within 5 years. However there are plenty of wealthy owners who haven't done that do not getting too excited just yet.
I'll settle for them getting us comfortable prem survival by then as long as they keep the structure right. No more debt thanks.

Was nowt more than a rumour last I knew last night, turn me phone on this morning, log on here and :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: Really don't want to believe it until everything's official but virtually impossible to contain me excitement.

Perhaps travelling to see Sunderland play in Europe is a possibility at some point within my lifetime after all? Albeit a fair way off
