Takeover Rumours

Ferk that we need to be out of this shitty league as a matter of urgency.
I honestly would prefer us to get the structures right rather than get promoted. I hope it isn’t an either/or but we'll never be as good as we could be until we sort the way we operate - even with a bunch of billionaires running us. Every penny we spend without sorting out the football structure is far more likely to be wasted. Look at early days City versus the way they are now.

Personally I reckon the die is pretty much cast for this season. I don’t think we’ve got the squad for better than playoffs and I’m not sure that league rules and club structures will allow sufficient work to be done in January to change that. I’d rather we spent the rest of the season getting the football structures right ready for next summer. In the meantime we can work out if it was a Ross issue or a Donald one that has brought us to where we are. If we get lucky along the way then all the better. Right now - whilst we’re ‘too big’ for our division we should do what we should have done during summer 2018 - make ourselves structurally ready to move through the leagues.
It worries me that with this platform to perform a major turnaround by using nifty recruitment tactics, we still managed to sign so many plodders...now I don’t mind some of the signings on the frees, like Flanagan, James etc, but our aim to have a more modern squad with sell on value has really went out the window. Youngsters let go, not enough pace or size and strength added, the signings of Willis, McNulty & Dobson are good in isolation, but as a collective we’re wondering “who fits in where?”. The sheer fact we spent preseason looking to play 3 centre halves before reverting back to a flat four after two games, shows me he ain’t the man for the job, or he’s been massively let down by recruitment. Not like we had massive amounts to spend this summer but still, I think it’s on everyone.

Every club has improved year on year? That's a kind way of looking at it imo.

Yes, win percentages have improved but, firstly, he's never had more than two seasons at a club, so year on year is pushing it a bit. Of the clubs he's been at:

Alloa : he was only there December 15 to October 16. Win percentage did improve in the short bit of the second season he had, but they had been relegated after the first season (no suggestion it was his fault) so you'd expect that, most clubs get a better win % the season following relegation!

St Mitten : yep, good example, he did well in 2016/17 to keep them up and then, in the same league, their win percentage massively improved and he took them up. No argument, that one season was very impressive.

SAFC : bit too early to tell about his win percentage, be worth revisiting later in the season if he's still here to see if it's improved significantly from last season

So basically there's one season where you can really show huge improvement. The first one was improvement in a lower league which you'd expect, and he didn't exactly keep it going all season as he left a couple of months in, and its too early to tell here yet. And he's never had 3 seasons anywhere. So "every club has improved year on year" seems a bit misleading
Gloves off, Guinness.

Level on shots at goal with Bolton Wanderers kids tells you all you need to know.
Donald and Methven are still to be running things by all accounts and billionaires coming or not the aforementioned twos footballing decisions up til now fill me with no confidence at all,we are painful to watch and can count ourselves very fortunate to be where we are in the league,if by chance we get promoted the whole squad and management team needs replacing.

There's a shop in Kemptown (or there was, last time I was there) selling pet accessories that goes by the name "Doggy Style". Always raised a wry smile. Doffed my cap. Rhyme intentional, not unconventional, but crap.
There is, or was, a dog grooming parlour in New Herrington called "Doggy Styles" used to smirk every time I went past it on the bus.
