Then in the second half, leading 1 nil decided to make an inspirational substitution and go with none up front. We absolutely battered Pompey in the first half of the checkatrade. The gulf was pronounced.

Yup - although the checkatrade has little to do with the post I replied to. Too much work trying to keep up with this bloody threadThen they decided to turn up unfortunately.
Agreed. Think Glen and Mike made the right call for their bait last night.

Given the resources he had and the players at his disposal 5th was pretty poor. The performances were poor and dull.Considering the downward spiral we were on before the new owner and manager I thought he worked wonders.. Every club he has managed has improved year on year, but I fear that with all the crap being thrown his way, his job here is going to be so much harder..
Good news on your job. Bad news is you've got fuck all chance on the lotteryI got offered a new job Wednesday, and Sunderland are set to become the richest club in the world within the same week.
Things come in threes, so I've just put £2.50 on for the lottery.
From what I've seen of this account I think they are on a wind up.Given you think finishing 5th in league 9ne was bloody great I'm fairly confident my footballing knowledge is superior to yours
Personally I reckon the die is pretty much cast for this season. I don’t think we’ve got the squad for better than playoffs and I’m not sure that league rules and club structures will allow sufficient work to be done in January to change that. I’d rather we spent the rest of the season getting the football structures right ready for next summer. In the meantime we can work out if it was a Ross issue or a Donald one that has brought us to where we are. If we get lucky along the way then all the better. Right now - whilst we’re ‘too big’ for our division we should do what we should have done during summer 2018 - make ourselves structurally ready to move through the leagues. The old saying, “play it by ear”. Think that’s how they’ll handle Jack Ross. You can’t defend the bloke after some of the stuff put up against him in this thread, he’s shown himself to be limited.
The recruitment staff, along with scouting, needs major additions, with an overhaul in ambition and size.
Think it’s odd that our fanzines and fan blogs have such a defensive attitude towards our managers....
I always thought if something big happened at safc then our fans would act in a classy manor without visions of stroking bullocks and grandeur.
I was wrong, we have an utter set of spenk a especially on here, fair enough get excited but some of the comments about incoming and present managers are pathetic And embarassing
It hasn't yet. Has it?I still cannot get me head round the fact this is happening to Sunderland

If only everyone was as perfect as youSome of the f***ing bell ends on here don’t deserve this takeover mate. Sat here shaking my head at a lot of these comments from all the usual suspects.
Embarrassing.

Not sure why its got Brighton on it mind. Maybe its a sponsor.
Jack Ross will be under enormous pressure to get us playing well and into the top two. He will be well aware of the feelings towards him, as he said after the Burnley match. I'm not sure he can step up to another level unfortunately.I retract my previous comment. The thread has gone to absolute shite now. Aye ok we sticking with Ross initially, and im sure he will have pressure to perform or be relieved of his duties. Yeah we have been shite for months now, im sure they will be mindful. However we are still being taken over by BILLIONAIRES !!!! Lets enjoy this rather than twisting about the manager.![]()
As irritating as the phrase is, it is what it is. This might be the tart of something special.Me too sadly.
Managed to get loads of friends n family great tickets, lovely weekend, gifted a lead then completely fecked it up. Standard sland.
Coleman?Every manager we brought in kept us up.
The one time went held on to a manager and we were relegated to the championship.
Which is fair enough, I think most would agree. But...2nd half performance in the cup, that's JR's doing.Personally I reckon the die is pretty much cast for this season.
