Takeover Rumours

I've worked for people like these and they make your head spin, the dynamism is absolutely relentless. If you fall off the troop carrier they don't even look back to see if you survived, It sounds harsh but it works and forms a much tighter team than having 'cake runs' and 'secret Santas'. I'm sure there are people who've been through that
Sounds a bit like a Cantona’s seagull story.

Thanks to Sir Bob the stadium can be expanded relatively cheaply to 65,000. (South / East Stand extensions which would be unbelievable and give us one of the best Club grounds in the world)

I may have heard similar to you...there has been some investigations about extending the West Stand. It can be done as we have the land but it will be a bit more expensive for the extra 10,000 seats it would provide.

Exciting times none the less.
Still remember the stadium being called a white elephant at the time. Any roof would need the stadium expanded as part of the build Id believe.. having a 65,000 seat stadium would be somewhat embarrassing if we were still in league one. Thankfully if we ever got that sort of investment we may get the new speaker system weve all been moaning about ;)
Ultimately, Ive never been too bothered about the amount of seats we have, more the amount of seats we can occupy. This in turn obviously equates to revenue in. Ive seen/heard a number of comments regarding pricing and the possibility we could, at some point in time, price out our local fanbase in order to achieve revenue targets. Would a larger stadium help in keeping our ticket pricing competitive? It may be a pointless argument, but if a fan wants the success, there has to be a part to play in supporting the finance of it. None of us would ask for a bigger or better house to live in whilst paying the same amount of rent/mortgage. Why should it be any different on a football pitch? (cue criticism which would have its own merits).
I think we would all like to see our prospective new owners pour millions into the club. I suspect that if four of us on this board were billionaires, Im sure we would sink pretty much every penny into the club we have grown up loving (and at times hating). Its a big ask of any new owner without any sort of affinity to the club, or the area, to commit such large amounts of money with little or no return. If it happens, I think it would be the masterstroke of all masterstrokes, and as has been posted by a considerable number of SMB regulars, I think there'd be a lot more 'masterstroking' going on.

Hopefully they will try to follow the Germans and Spanish and fill the stadium with cheap season tickets.

I don't think we ever fully recovered from the 15 point season. A handful of occasions aside, the atmosphere was never quite right with a big crowd in. Fair weatherers making their gobs go about how things never change etc when things don't go according to plan.

Fook me......

Yes it's happening and the final i's have all been dotted ....
... just waiting for the T's to be crossed.

I've been told Friday unless the lawyers string it out.
C$&k firmly in hand awaiting the announcement 🤪

This is absolutely spot on. It’s ingrained in a section of the support now.

I didn't get to discuss that mate.

All he said was that we should expect a tsunami to go through the whole club.

They're well aware that Short allowed departments to engage way too much bodies and too many sub standard personnel.

There'll be no round pegs in square holes with the new regime.

Sunderland became a rest home for under achieving staff, coasting scouts and the likes of Moyes with his car load of semi retired Everton players.

I feel like I should get back into the gym in case I'm barred from supporting us
This 1000%^ It makes my heart sink when I see the quality of personnel involved with the club, not just on the pitch. I was watching STID in the middle of the night (I'll Sleep when I'm Dead!) and when the lad was announcing Grayson's sacking, he gabbled like a goose. PR on a world stage needs diction, clarity and a strong Mackem accent! They've let BBC Newcastle take the piss for decades. I seriously doubt the capabilities of the stewards to control an incident. Everything around the stadium needs an upgrade including the catering/drinking. How can you get that massive crowd of CUSTOMERS all in one place and then can't wait to usher them off the premises. It's mad! So much could be done without laying a brick.
I hope the American service ethos is front and centre with the new regime.
