Takeover Rumours

Some weird reactions on this board, trying to remind us we aren’t going do a Man City. We’re in League 1, there is a lot of improvement that could be made without stupid spending.

If the new guys can help provide us with a long term plan for growth i’d be over the moon. Grow our international brand and increase corporate revenue, while making it easier to keep hold of young talent.

If they want to grow their investment, I can only assume their aim will be to make us an established PL side and that’s all i’ve ever wanted.

So were they?

And? Just because Fulham paid 20m for a forward doesn’t mean nowt. Norwich went up last season and hardly spent a penny. It’s not all about buying players for ridiculous money.
Since 2015 Norwich have spent close to 80m on players building a squad. They have not done it on a shoe string and transfers now are double what they were 2 or 3 year ago.
Of course it would, you just need to spend it wisely instead of our trend over the last few years of spending it on anything that'll come here
And when was the last time we done that

For the Skunks failed takeover it was headline news with bong eye giving his opinion. We get nowt

Mind, I love the fact the Chronicle has a story about how FFP will impact us - yet three months ago they ran a story about the players the mags could buy on a 200m spending spree 😂
Hah, started off canny, then repeated it hasn’t happened yet and we’ve been down this road with billionaires. Sad sad bastards.

Reality is we don

They didnt spend 80m outside the premier league did they so misleading point.

Klose cost 20m in the premier league not championship

How much did Sheff Utd spend?

I’ve been saying all day that £100 million would be the amount to get us relatively stable, should we get promoted. I’d imagine most clubs that have gone up and tried to do it cheaply have ended up relegated again.

I'd heard Norwich and Huddersfield wanted the TV money for stadium improvements and were ready for relegation with a plan to go up again using the parachute money.

I imagine we're sorted stadium wise until we get in the CL.

Huddersfield didn't spend when they got there. Of all the promoted sides over the last few years, only Wolves and the Mags have spent huge amounts of money. The point remains that you don't need anything like £100m to get out of the Championship.

I’ve worked with Phil Hodgkinson in the past and although he’s a lifetime Hudds fan, he hasn’t got a pot to piss in, in relative terms. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they go down again.

Never know, the Bills may invest into our Ladies team and with good cash we can go straight to the Premier league, kicking out some fourth top team.
Sounds familiar?

Leicester got into the Premiership by only spending £17 million in the previous 5 seasons.
Wheeling and dealing to get a group of players who could be called a team.
First year in the Premier £20.5 million spent and the Premiership winning season £36.4 million.
Their nett spend is low because they bought players who grew in value.
It is their system we need to follow not Wolves

Is that the same klose that only cost 10m but played last season for them, so it's all relevant. They're squad that got promoted had alot of money spent on it.

Live down south and at work with 2 lads not into football today. I had tomentio. And one asked what it meant for sunderland going forward. He seemed a bit taken aback when i just said world domination straight faced as i could
It's an awesome feeling, won't dare come on here if it was to fall through. The meltdown would be not of this world.
